Yes,that girl from Grumm,in the same sector with Arnie and Fredo.
Years ago,when I first saw her,I thought she fixes T-shirts.Even gave her an "I LOVE ARULCO" T-shirt I had bought from Jake Cameron.Tried to make free donations to her.Nothing.
Looks to me like she is the most useless NPC in the game.Probably a blessing to modders,but otherwise futile.OK,maybe good for exalting our bad boys egos("Goodness,you scare me...")
Was she intended to give some info?
Is she yet another remainder of a "noble intent" that was forgotten at some stage by the game makers?

fights between mercs

Some of the mercs fight eachother.How about organising some matches?Anyone into this?
Like for Lynx and Buzz...What a fight this could be!A duel with equal weapons.Something like each having a fully loaded MP5K,and shooting at eachother from 15-19 tiles. 
Trevor doesn't seem to be a match for Shadow with any firearm,but the situation changes when in hand to hand combat.Same for Buns and Fox...a regular mudfight should give Foxy the upper hand.
Or let's see if anyone beats Malice or Dr.Q without weapons.
But what I'd really like to see is a match between the two blade masters,Razor and Scully.
Problem is:who attacks first?

Now, I can place most of the other mercs in JA2/WF, either through their bios at AIM/MERC or through their accents... but I'd like to mention Fidel in an upcoming chapter of 'Dust of the Arena' (which will be updated this weekend, BTW :help:

Who's Your Favorite Merc?

Mine is my IMP guy. I make him a Night Ops expert and he rules the night. Best of all, he's free.
from AIM I'd probably choose Dr. Q since he has Night Ops and Martial Arts. I love kicking the crap out of my enemies. He's cheap too.
For that reason, I'd choose Numb from M.E.R.C. He's pretty cheap too, but a little more expensive than Dr. Q over 2 weeks.
Ira is incredibly good too since she can teach other MERC's really well. She's ultra cheap.

Thor/Fidel

What's everyone's general opinion of these two mercs? I nearly always hire one or both of them at the start of a game; Thor's a good doctor and becomes an extremely good fighter after just drassen and the drassen SAM because of his huge WIS, while fidel makes an excellent and cheap sniper (just don't give him an automatic).
Both of their qoutes seem cool, too; Thor being a optimist hippy and Fidel a crazy lugnut who, as I recently found out, cut Hurl into peices and fed him to his dog after JA:DG.
I especially seem to find myself hiring Thor almost constantly. His excellent physical stats, cheap midrangish cost and fast-gaining skills remind me a lot of the ivan of JA1 and JA:DG; a cheap and allround excellent merc.
The only problem, however, is that I now often find myself restarting to try out groups that -aren't- comprised of either of these two. :/

JA2 Story, pick your favorite Merc!

I'm doing a LONG story on JA2, and I would like you all to vote for your favorite merc to be in the story (for at least the first day.)
The rules are, you only can vote for ONE merc... Mercs will be selected in order of the most votes. When it comes time for the hiring of a merc, and there is not enough money to suport this merc for even one day, the choice will go to the next merc down the line.
Also since this part of the story will only cover the first day of combat, all mercs must be from A.I.M. Later you will be given the option of M.E.R.C as well...
So.... Vote away, for your favorite merc!!!

Forget about skill... If you had your pick, based on a merc's personality, who would you take?
I tend toward the lunatics. I really liked Ruben and Skitz in the UC mod. Razor is also a favorite.
Among the AIM mercs, not as many stand out for me.
One reason that I like beaing able to edit characters a bit, is just so I can keep the ones I enjoy together. (Edit out the learn to hates and so on that tends to split up parties...)
Probably if I had an ideal crew, stats aside, it would be mostly made up of the psychos and lunatics... One approach I've tried for fun was to create a lunatic team, and a "high end" team. Of course, I love the efficiancy of the mercs like Ivan, Lynx, and Shadow, but for pure entertainment's sake, the crazies get my vote every time.

I don't mean the merc you hate the most, but the one you can't use with great effect.
For me, I'd say Bubba. To...awful to use for anything. Flo and Biff have more kills then him. I find his low wisdom to be a major hinderence, and he hasn't improved in ANY stats since I got him. He's awful. Also, he's not a team player, Blood hates him. Bah.

Have you ever contacted an AIM merc when he's not available? Well, if you haven't I definatetly recommend you to! You hear a message from tape and you may leave a message for the merc to call back as soon as he's available. (how's that stupid machine called?!? It's not in my english-german dictionary, please help me out of this :whoknows: !)
I especially recommend the messages of Steroid, Blood and Gus!
