Pretty sure I am just missing something. I am having problems getting the game to play with the 64 mercs setting. I had the previous build, 7051 I think it was. If I clicked on the JA2_volatile_r7051 I was able to play with 64. this time, if I click on the Ja2_volatile_r7499 is shows two init.cpp failures. It gives me the red line errors about reverting back to 32 merc cap on the regular ja2 application also. it cant load the data basically. I looked around and cant find a readme or any help on it. So I am looking for some clarification. I know im doing some wrong and simple.

Did you use GameDir data >= r2140?

Ok thx. I misunderstood his post.
By the way: Is there a possibility to increase the mine income over 1000? Becourse the game corrected it automatically.

Hey Flug, are you still looking for testers with this?
I've been playing since April with volatile exe r7051 with SVN version 7141 (yes, I know it's not supposed to work...) + Arulco Revisited + a few modifications of my own (more vehicles, etc.) and everything is working perfectly as far as I can tell.
I captured or visited most cities on the map, the only ones I haven't visited are the ones at the bottom: Meduna and Balime, as well as Baldio, Escondite, Orilla and Recreo (those are added by Arulco Revisited).
I also gave my mercs a lot of extra skill traits (10+ for some of them) and haven't had problems with your mod.
I started several games and haven't run in a single problem at all. Unfortunately I never finish my games, so I can't report any further (I like taking my time too much and I hate reaching the end).
Is there anything in particular you'd like me to test? I can try to capture the last cities if you'd like, and I know how to edit the map and Options.ini to give me an advantage so I could test about anything quickly. I'm just not sure what kind of issues or conflicts you might expect to encounter with this mod and would like us to test out.
Anyway, I hope this helps get the mod in the trunk soon. I love playing with an entire army of mercs, so that I can recruit all the guys I like and leave a squad defending each city (I removed the mercs' weekly fees and replaced them with a flat one-time fee).

In the meantime, I can already tell you that no, I haven't observed any slowdowns or anything unusual, although I don't really play with lots of mercs in the same sector at once, rather they're spread out across multiple cities. But I'll test a few large fights with 50-100 mercs while I'm at it, just to be sure. I have had no crashes or any other problems either, everything seems to work fine and the same as it always has, which is happilly surprising considering the odd mix of mods/versions I'm running.

Hi!
I downloaded the new exe, but I ran into a problem. If I increase MAX_NUMBER_PLAYER_MERCS in Ja2_Options.ini (tried 128 and 256), I can't load saved games anymore. And I don't mean loading older saves, created prior to the change - I edit the ini file, start a new game, save, quit to menu, and try to load the savegame.
What happens is that the loading screen appears, but after the loading itself is done, only some random garbage gets displayed - parts of the loading screen background, some elements of GUI, buttons from the load game window (which are still clickable, but they are not visible until you hover your mouse cursor over them).
Interestingly, quicksaving and quickloading seems to work, but trying to load the very same quicksave, or any other savegame, from main menu results in the situation described above.
I didn't do a lot of testing, but everything seems ok if MAX_NUMBER_PLAYER_MERCS is kept at the default value (64).
I tried a clean install, but I can still reproduce the problem.
I'm using gamedir 2212 and volatile exe 7752. No other changes were made to any of the game files.

I can somewhat reproduce that, though oddly, older savegames from previous versions till work - only fresh saves don't. I'll check this out tomorrow after work.

Update: New volatile release (r7771).
- Savegame compatible to 7752, 7499, 7205 and 7051 releases.
- Updated to current development trunk. Note that a few changes in the GameDir have occured since r7752, you will want the newest SCI.
- Fixed an error that caused savegames to not load properly if player team had a max size > 127. To clarify, those savegames are perfectly fine, it was just the loading that was buggy.

My English is very bad. I hope you understand me (Otherwise I have to write German):
- The AI attack C13 in the morning. My mercs stay at C12. Normally the red box appear and go in the auto-resolve modus. But at this point only the red box appear and crash the game.
Edit: I move the mercs away and the game still crash again.
I see no option here to upload something. Can someone help me?

Hmm. Also um 09:40 greift der Feind C13 an, autoresolve startet, und die Miliz zermatscht den Gegner. Ich erkenn' da jetzt keinen Fehler.
Mobile Milizen kannst du nicht trainieren, da ALLOW_MILITIA_STRATEGIC_COMMAND auf TRUE sitzt -

Allerdings kann man gerade nicht gescheit Milizen bewegen - dass ist dann ein anderer Fehler, um den ich mich mal kümmern muss.
