If you wish to get new IMP mercs whenever you want, you may try "Transferatu".

It is available at JA2mods.de at the tools section.

It can make a save forget that you have already created an IMP, so you can do so again and again and again.

It can do other nice things as well, like placing militia in enemy sectors, editing money, take out the automatic death at the philippines, editing loyality, editing enemy numbers at a sector and so on.

As I have not yet translated my manual to english, I will give a short instruction right here.
The editor itself is showing english text most of the time, so there should be no problem in finding the right command number.

Most important is that you place the "JA2path" file to your hard drive, and not into any folder.

This file contains data and preferences which I did not want to hard code.
Transferatu will search on the drive you name for this file.

First, the editor is loading sets of data for different JA 2 versions.
You will have to select the setting that comes most close on your mod or version.

Second, each setting contains a path to a savegame in DOS names (8 chars max per file/folder)

I have preset all settings to access the quicksave of the folder the programm is located in. So throw the Transferatu.exe inside of the save folder and it should work just fine.

If you

I'm afraid that I am lost with your editor. Until the English instructions are out, it looks like I am going to have to wait to use it.

What exactly is the problem ?
Is there a message from the editor ?
Where is the Transferatu.exe located ?

Where is the "ja2Path" file located (D:\ja2path -or something like this )?

The editor will create an empty version of this file if it is not present to enable input of data.
( The way I edited the one that is included in the download. )
Of course this one would then be useless to you until replaced by the downloaded file.

Some users in germany have problems too, even if they can read the manual, so don

I don't really know if its the path or the savegame which is the problem, I have put it in the jaii directory and in the ja2 save directory with no success.

I get these options"

What is your drive letter? c,d

I type in d:

These options then appear

0-Forget it
1-Extract and use ' ' setting
2-Change settings of ' ' and save them to file
3-Manually alter settings of this session
4-Choose alternative setting

Question: How do I get to the cool features from one of these selections??? I have tried each one, each time getting a little more confused than the last. If someone could point me in the direction of an on-line translation device to put the instructions provided from German to English, I could probably figure out what I am doing wrong.

Placing the exe in the save directory is right.
Placing "ja2path" on D:\ (not inside any directory) is right.

The appearing options should read:
....
1 - Extract and use "ja 2 v 1.xx NON MOD" setting
....

Well, crap!!! I finally got the thing to scan and now all I can get is "checkbox failed" I have already tried to change the starting and ending values around with no success. The few options which are showing up (11-16) are also giving a "checkbox failed" I am going to try a re-install of the game, then try a fresh save and see what happens.
