I will be starting to mess about with the graphics soon.

Extracting/converting .sti to .bmp is easy.

What is the best utility to convert .bmp back to .sti?

Or, how the hell to do this!!

Please note. I cannot use console utilities, my 'puter goes looney-tunes if I do.

Thanks for any help.

Try StiEdit it's the easiest to use. Open your image with your paint program and copy it to clipboard. Then open StiEdit and either make a new sti or open the sti you want to edit and simply select copy from clipboard.

Sti Edit is the only one I know of. And it's finicky to use until you play around with it and get a feel for it.

I promised someone a while ago I would write some instructions on the process, but I haven't had a chance to yet.

I sure wish someone would write us a new .sti program. I had high hopes that NCrawler was going to make one for us, but he had to fall out, because of real life obligations. Hopefully some other talented coders will come along and give us something great. Smile

GRV works also. Good luck finding instructions since LotB and this forums archives are gone.

The one reoccuring problem I've had with StiEdit is a bug that corrupts colors. Seems to only happen when paging through a multi-page sti. If it happens don't save anything and shut it down and restart.

I forgot about GRV. I have not used it much. Roman stated it works better with large pics, of 640x480 or greater. Sti Editor crashes if you use anything larger than that.
