Mike "Woody" Woodrow. It's a hoot when you have him on a team with Tarballs.

I usually name my male IMP David Hayter, nicknamed Gray - NO/Auto Weapons.

Sometimes I use James Paisley, nicknamed Malakh - it's Hebrew for angel. Stealthy/NO or Ambi/NO.

I only made one female merc before, and her name was Non Pierce. Her nick was Phoenix.

My favorite name (stealthy/throwing) has been Dagwood "Dagger" Cutler. (It matches Gus too.)

My female equivalent is Stella "Stiletto" Hill

And then there's Frank "Frag" Garnett...

well, I can go two ways on this.

when you could only have one IMP, his name was Pikachu. yes, yes, I can hear you all laughing, but I'm a bit of a Pokemon fan and I used that nick once at a LAN party, and it stuck.

now, I go the boring route - Brian, Kim, Michael (me, my wife, and my 1-year-old), Jenn (my neighbor), Angus and Skye (nicks of my best friend and his wife).

Well...
My first playthrough, I named my character Imp. The, there has been quite a lot of names.
Damon "Dr.D/DrDeath" Dander
(Wonder if anyone can recognise the name)was pry the next one. Then I came up with
Stephen "Step" Oxford
But after noticing Stephen Rothman in the AIM list I changed the name to Orson "Ox" Oxford. Fits perfectly to same squad with Bull.

Of course I have had my share of
Roadkills, Overkills, Deaths, Rungunners, Ghosts, Spectres, all kinds of felines, and so on. Vikingamytologi (Mythology of vikings) has also been a spring of inspiration. Odin, Thor, Balder, Loke, Tyr... Too bad I couldn't fit Jormungand to the nickname selection.

(Sorry, my inglese is no good.)

Invariably, my Merc is named Wessel. It is my knickname in real life, and derived from my actual name; Wesley. I forgo any reference to Horst Wessel, the infamous Nazi killed in a streetfight with the Communists in the early 30's, and turned into an iconic martyr for the still rising NSDAP. Wessel has been with me 20+ years, and came from Weasel, then Wheeze (which I hated). I love the name Wessel, almost more than Wesley, but it doesn't roll with my last name, Doyel.

'Big dipper': it's the constellation 'plow' / 'the big bear' / 'the big wagon'.

I try to make him like I wish I could be if I was a merc.

So...I use my real name with the nickname Viruk attached. Smile

For (play?) testing my mod, I use all 6 IMPS. So, the three females:
Mary "Melons" Mortimer. Rooftop sniper.
Helen "Allways" Reddy. Night ops.
Gina "Gimme" Moore. Night ops.
The three males:
Ivor "Really" Biggun. Lockpicking.Me (not true!)
Harry "Hatchet" Higgins. Explosives.
Paul "Plonker" Patterson. Heavy weapons.
There you have it. Works for me!

I play with 6 imps too. Figured its more fun to play with the imps named as my best friends.

Andras "Mcray" Pacza : Me the roadf freak : lockpick, auto
Timea "Cuki" Kapisinszky : My LOVE : sniper, electronics
Tamas "Molnar_T" Molnar : PSYCHO friend : heavy, nightops
Katalin "Noose" Rosta : Aerobics friend : sniper, camo
Dorka "Blade" Beke : My ex,Kung Fu freak : stealth,HTH
Karoly "Shirley_K" Goschl : Battletech freak : auto, heavy

The names are Hungarian thats why its strange for you guys. Its cool when a Tango tries to shoot up my love and I race to save her with my FNC. Or when my ex bashes up 4 tangoes standing right next to each other saving my team a granade toss :biglaugh: :biglaugh:

Heidi "Frost" Crumer. She's heat-intolerant, just like me.. Night-ops + stealthy. Actually, I've got the word "frost" in my real name as well.

She's developed into one of my favourite characters of the game. I really love the roleplaying aspect in JA. I managed to choose a decent voice for her too - the only reason my male character never became so dear to me was the all the male voices are so.. bad. :/

Male IMP's; Alpha. Alleycat. Abaddon. Asylum. Aardvark. for nix; always my name for real name.

Female IMP's; flavour of the moment. Currently Siouxie.

There are no Orientals on either selection which is bad. I would choose it for female IMP if it was there.

I have named IMP's with my kids names in the past but it felt really bad when they got killed so I stopped doing it. I also re-named the queen to my ex-wife's name but that felt wrong in the end too! JA2 therapy.

I've been using 'Mr. T' lately for kicks, high str, health, and mech., low wis. I also had a male IMP named 'Vandal' and he liked using a crowbar. For awhile I used 'Ding', based on the Tom Clancy character in Rainbox Six, and like the novel, he uses a MP5/10SD.

For my female IMP, i like 'Striker', or if i'm feeling goofy, go with something like 'Xena'. Smile

In JA2 1.13, you can lower the attribute points and/or the maximums, so the IMP is less of a bargain. Then again, when Ira and Dimitri come for free, it begs the question of how low can you lower it without IMPs becoming pointless. I'd be interested in knowing anyone who's actually tried messing with those parameters and what their results were.
