I have been playing JA2 v. 1.13 on Windows 7 64 bit for the past few days. I downloaded the game from gog.com It's been working great other than sometimes the ammo count will read "??". But today, I was reading about the Urban Chaos 1.13 mod. I tried to install it. Before installing Urban Chaos, I copied my JA2 folder and placed it on the desktop. I then installed the Urban Chaos according to the instructions (copying and replacing in the JA2 folder. Please tell me I did not delete my v. 1.13 save files when I did this. I can still launch v. 1.13 from that desktop copy folder that I created, but I can only start a new game. Where is the location of the save files on Windows 7?

In the game folder, JA2\Profiles\UserProfile_JA2113\Savegames.

It is a New Feature in game,your Merc must have a good wisdom,dexterity and Experience lv to know how many bullets left or at least how many of them.

To disable it go to ini,search for HIDE_BULLET_COUNT_INTENSITY = 75 and replace 75 with 0

All save files are in Profiles Folder

C:\Jagged Alliance 1.13\Profiles\UserProfile_JA2113\SavedGames

P.S:Dont put Ja2 in Program Files!

 UC-1.13 adds its own separate profiles folder, so you shouldn't lose any saves from a stock campaign. The only thing you should be concerned with however is the fact that the current public release of UC-1.13 (v3.09c) is built around an older version of Jagged Alliance 2 v1.13, rev4057. Did you use Tais' SCI for UC-1.13 v3.00?

That's kind of cool about the ammo counting. Thanks.

I originally had my gog.com copy of JA2 installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com. I copied my Jagged Alliance 2 folder from there to my desktop.

It looks like I used the v3.09 UC.

I don't see any SavedGames folder in either my desktop folder or in the C: folder I created titled "games" in which I put the jagged alliance 2 folder and installed UC there. I do have an error message in Profiles\UserProfile_JA2113 that says:

Not sure about Win7 but on vista iirc if you install to program files the save games are in c:\user\yourname\appdata\local\virtualstore\program files (x86)\JA2.

Problem solved! Thanks everyone. T_Bolt was right. It seems gog.com games put the save file in exactly where T_Bolt said. I couldn't find it because I had "do not show hidden files or folders" checked. I don't know why it wouldn't pick them up after I installed UC though. Anyway, I'm glad to have them back. I haven't played in years. I should probably be studying for the bar exam, but instead I will return to Arulco with Reaper and an Arctic Warfare Magnum .338. Thanks again.

Shamelessly bumping this long dead thread, as I was unable to find (and delete) save files from 'failed' games (I like to play 'dead is dead' and having 3/4 of my crew decimated seems like 'dead' enough to restart).

My cunning use of Google advanced search led me here Smile

Last time I checked the savegames were in "Ja2\Profiles\UserProfile_JA2113\SavedGames". However, this can vary if you play with mods which use a different folder under "Ja2\Profiles". For example WF maps mod has a sub-folder "UserProfile_JA2113WF607" there.
