@Craigmsandy, I will upload an update in a couple of days. I am in the process of cleaning all items from the maps as players are finding conflicts. also removed the sumguns from the tileset which should help with crashes. And a few tweaks hear or there.

@Lockie, Thanks for the kind words. The maps are from Shedd's mod it's true, however I have moved,an reworked all of them so they will be familiar but not the same and probably not in the same location.

If anyone has any battle maps (screen shots)from savegames I would really like to look at them. especially B13,D15,D2,H12 or any that had a good battle.
Please send them to oldnooob@gmail.com

JA2 1.13INSANEmapsALPHAv0.2 is now available.

revisions;
removed all placed items from maps (3 or 4 exceptions)

removed items from npcs

tweaked a few maps

strengthened army in all sectors

removed smgun.sti, smp1.sti,smp2.sti,smp3.sti from data/tileset0

gameplay INI recommendations; (note: these maps are not balanced!)
game progress 50%control 50%sectors visited
mercs max 32
sight range 9 or 10 (to allow more short range combat and lower turkey shoot advantage)
BR at lowest setting

Also start with a strong squad and bring mechanics.

So you think you are tough? So you want a real challenge? So you think you can takeover a small country with only a single squad? How long can you hold it while being counterattacked every hour on the hour by elite troops? 32 mercs enough? How about giving me another 32 maybe I will be able to hold out for another day. My guys are getting awfully sleepy.

Welcome to JA2 1.13INSANE mod. Look at the stats carefully, How many battles, How many kills?, how many mercs? What are they doing? Who is Bobby Ray?, oh, you mean the on line sporting goods store that sells fishing gear and war surplus earflap hats?

THEY know you are coming!

He is not in the mine-building at night, but during the day. I had to wait for him after my night-attack, too.

How made this page? Who is posfan12?

I needed some Kleenex, and then I downloaded it. The Wiki page is very cool!!

Lordy be praised !

A resurrection has arisen ! From the dead , Oldnooobs maps have appeared , rolling aside a mighty stone to have light 'shed' upon them , once more .

I still have this mod , playing occasionally ,but yeah , playing on expert still gives waaaay too many items / cash laying around .
Still tough though .

posfan12 is me. You have to register to edit the pages. Once you've registered it's pretty simple to create new articles - a lot simpler than Wikipedia in fact! It's more like editing a Word document.

I want to create a page for Kaerar's maps as well, but all of the maps I've tried so far have crashed the game and map editor for some reason.

You say your mod is "meant to be played on INSANE difficulty." What exactly does this mean? What would happen if a person played on a lower difficulty level? Could you create non-INSANE versions of your maps? What would need to be done?

SharkD, I have not uploaded my insane mod as yet. There is to much work to be done.

The maps were uploaded and offered with the hope that someone would take an interest in my efforts and offer to help me create a modern day Arulco mod.

The maps can be played at any level of course. Persons who play at lower levels would not be interested in my INSANE challenge. (except for Lockie of course, HeHe)

I'm looking forward to this project and will be happy to test it when it seems playable. Now if only Ironman mode was a viable option....
