When you guys talk about JA2 Gold, does that mean that I'm SOL? I own JA2 original 1.06 (?) disc and an original JA2UB disc, the retail version. I'm currently playing SOG '69 and loving it, so when I'm done I'd like to try a new mod. Thanks

No you are not SOL, afaik you can for example run 1.13 on any original JA2 install and I'd like to refer to original JA2 as vanilla JA2 or something like that.
It is also possible to update 1.06 to 1.12 if I'm right, shouldnt be required for most mods though
