Hey guys, I'm a long time player of JA2. I have searched all over the web and the site and I have found that the issue is caused by Crossfire and SLI. What I have not found however, is a solution to MY situation. This is my first post, and registered specifically to resolve this.

I have an Nvidia Geforce 555M card. I do not have SLI as I only have one GPU.

What other suggestions do you guys have for fixing this?

Specs:
Dell XPS L702x
Intel i7-2630QM @ 2.00GHz
Nvidia Geforce 555M
6.00 GB RAM
Win 7 64bit

Perhaps you should specify the kind of graphical error, you're encountering.

I have an Nvidia Geforce 555M card. I do not have SLI as I only have one GPU.
As I recall, the M signifies that it is a mobile GPU (aka for laptop), but NVIDIA's site shows that the 555M supports SLI. Some of the newer cards are actually 2 GPUs, so any SLI problems may appear, even though the user thinks he doesn't use SLI.
Since the laptop you have should also have a second GPU (Intel one), try using Optimus to have JA2 run on the Intel card instead of the 555M one.

You are correct, I'm on a Dell XPS Laptop.

So how do I go about disabling SLI? I don't see any options in the Nvidia Control Panel regarding it. What is optimus? Is it an Nvidia program or third party software? I tried forcing it to the Intel CPU through the Nvidia Control Panel but it didn't seem to change anything.

I am having mouse trails stick all over the menu screen. It is bad enough that I can't really continue to any other menus.

I should also add that I have updated to 1.13 and I still get this error, it didn't take care of it.

There's a bunch of options that could interfere - VSync (which can be turned on and off both in game INI and in nvidia panel), windowed mode or compatibility modes... try messing around with them.

I tried every compatibility mode, as well as disabling vsync. No luck. I had no issues on my PC running Vista. Anyone else having trouble with Win 7?

In what Resolution do you start JA2? Open the INI-Editor and there is a selector where you can choose from various Game Screen Solutions. Might be something up with that, after all I had some major problems at some point to start JA2 when my Game Screen Resolution was set too high.

The only option that has worked for me is windowed mode. Does anyone know the difference as to why it would work in windowed mode vs full screen?

The resolution had no effect I'm afraid. Sad

Windowed mode requires 16 bit color depth instead of the default 32 that most people use today. Have you tried to run the game with 16 bit color depth and fullscreen? This might work as well.
