Good morning, here's one annoiance of mine, enjoy it :diabolical:

So administrators/yellow shirts in vanilla ja2 are ment to be encountered only in cityest, thiough i remmeber i slaughtered them only outside Drassen and in that city only...so I was wondering if thei presence could me more frequent in cities, and they may be rename to "police" or whatever...

...plus, in some important cities (Drassen which has an airport, Cambria meduna and so on...) there may be also a sectror containing a police station! Provided that would not be an overload of work, of course...

As for the first point they may also drop more frequently hancuffs and batons, making the interrogation feature to be use a bit more...Razz

What the AIMNAS developers/community thinks about? Am i ranting after all?

Edit, they could have also some proper police taunts such as "freeze" "drop you weapon" "you're under arrest", ecc.. mhh.. ROFL

Actually there is a police station in every major town. It is called A.C.A. building whatever that stands for.

Deidranna has no need for a police force. She has her soldiers and lots of them.
Admins are more like the recruits of her army, red shirts are the normal soldiers while elites are specialists/officers/mercenaries.

Thanks for your explanation, silversurfer! Smile

In the end, may be possible to modify those A.C.A. buildings, replacing those writings with a nice hand of white paint Very Happy and therefore modifying them as police stations, or even building them from scratch (nothing too expensive, though)? Also with that equipment stuff I wrote above? If not, whatever!! Smile

Edit: sorry, from the AIMNAS Faq

smeagol

Q: I can't train militia in towns anymore???

A: Yes, you can... but you will need the sector with the A.C.A. building (A.C.A. is the Arulcan police), a rebel hideout or a military base for that

If there's not will to modify that stuff, sry, I meant about the chanche to have such modification in the mod, dont' really want to annoy Sad

Admins only appear on very low progress levels, they are gradually replaced by the standard army. One would simply have to change this code part. Imho it would be reasonable to have admins in every cities' initial garrison, but not in reinforcement sent from Meduna.

That's exactly what i meant :naughty: but they may also appear as reinforcements in cities only eg. a policeman is ordered to serve in anothr city where need of some manforce (?!?!)

Edit: obviously, while they should have not weapons of war (pistols, shotguns, at least some SMG) they of course cooperate either with regular troops and elites already present in a given city sector..but then in the early game and/or in minor cityes the may appear in urban sectros not supported by regulars (good for a more balanced game, i think)

..well there are a lot of choiches... :crossbones:

Admin gun and item selection is already in separate xmls, so you can easily edit that.

I encountered a small issue with v21. The militia have green shirts, but the military also wears green. Kind of difficult to distinguish between the two on the battlefield. I don't know if it is only in the beginning of the game, because I just started. Normally you would encounter redshirts, right?

You can edit those colours in Army/UniformColors.xml. Note that it is case sensitive, a typo will produce... bright... results.

edit: damn typos >:=O

Unless smeagol decides to use a very old exe for no good reason at all, this will be in. Frankly, this can't simply be removed from current 1.13 without coding.

OK, thanks! I figured out it could be impelemtned in AIMNAS, at least with the minumum effort possibble, by just modifying yellow shirt's loadout and taunts. Brand new buildings would cost more time >.< Edit: sry but i've not much time/will to taemper with .xml or whtaever it's involved, so i won't do that :bawling:

Ok whatever will be fine, thank you again Flugente!!! :cheerleader:

I think that Arluco Police must be another fraction in Arluco towns , so when loyalty low police could attack you , when loyalty is high Police units will help you with enemy assassins ... You can add some lines of code from Militia fractions ... Police units ( Blue shirts & black pants ) Am thinks add some bandits (Armed civilians walks a cross country .) & refuges form others cites & hunters groups ( Some times hunts blood cats ...) You should add also cars for police & technical pick up trucks with MG for militia too ...

This is rather unrealistic, the Arulcean Police Force is made up of policemen largely loyal to Deidranna, else they wouldn't be Police Officers in the first place.

Truth, in Argentina the slang for police is "la cana" but that would be unrealistic in a long term dictatorship, I mean, naming your buildings after a slang.

Fun fact, it's used because of a superintendent named Racana (which sounds close to La-cana)people used to warn each other using this guy's name because apparently he was very fond of using force to deal with any problem. We are talking 1929 period.

Well how about, thinking in south american spanish rather than European spanish... A.C.A = Adjuntaci

Actually, there have been certain considerations about bringing at least some kind of static "for the flavour" model of an "Arulcean Police SUV" into this mod, ironicly the Ford Bronco was one of the most promising models in this direction.

But I can't tell you, if or when this will make it into AIMNAS
