Been awhile since played Jagged Alliance 2, last time I played "normal version" and Deidranna Lives and Urban Chaos mods. Though can't remember anything anymore about so it is time to memory refreshment! cheeky

Which order would it be best to enjoy JA2 nowadays? I would like to play at least following:

Ja2 1.13mod
Deidranna lives (updated to 1.13 version?)
Urban Chaos (updated to 1.13 version?)
anything else missing and recommended?

Currently I'm playing normal version of Unfinished Business to just refresh some JA2 memories.

Would appreciate recommendations and comments, thanks!

Well, the specific order is up to you. But to get the "feeling" of all the changes 1.13 has been undergone, I would recommend with starting with "standard" 1.13 first. This can be found in "Depri's v1.13 Builds and Packages" as an SCI (SingleClickInstaller). There you also find an installation instruction.
Descriptions for many of the new features can be found under "Flugente's Magika Workshop" and "MODDING HQ 1.13 » v1.13 Coding Talk » Trunk AI and improvements". The majorty of features is optional and can be changed with the Ini-Editor, think of it as something like "Game Settings" in other games. There are other ways and places where you can change things, but that'll probably to much for starters.
If you are interested in doing more changes, I'll advice reading about whatever peaks your interset in the threads you find here and the ask specific questions that may come up in the regarding thread.

At http://ja2v113.pbworks.com/w/page/4218339/FrontPage you can find instructions and downloads for JA2v1.13 version 7609, often also refered as "stable release". This version is needed for the majority of v1.13-mods. So, if you come across an installation instruction that refers to that one, that's what is needed.
So if you want all new features try v1.13 at Depri's Builds and Packages, if you want to try mods over 1.13 you most likely will need the 7609-version (which is from 2014, so some feature will be missing).

Here you can find a list of all those cool mods: http://thepit.ja-galaxy-forum.com/index.php?t=msg&th=14663&start=0&

If you scroll down the mainpage, you'll see "JA2 Complete Mods & Sequels", there you'll also find a thread dealing with DL and UC for 1.13 as well as threads for some of the other mods.

Thanks a lot for your reply and instructions, helped me a lot. Now started JA v1.13 and can't believe what huge amount of work there has been. Amazing job!

I don't know if I can thank enough people who have participated in keeping Jagged Alliance alive by modding it. Are there anyway I, as a random player, can support you guys for doing this amazing modding work?

Glad that I could provide some help happy

I would like to add some things to what I've written.

Whenever you feel like playing some of the mods that are based on JA2v1.13 7609, try to play with the new exe-file provided by the member sevenfm.
In this exe (called 7609+AI) most of the bugfixes from recent builds (8740 now) are integrated, plus the AI-behaviour is tweaked a lot, resulting
in smarter enemies (they won't come running directly to you, try to avoid light at night, try to outflank you and so on and on) and some very cool
additions, like e.g. spreading fire (burnable stuff will burn when you throw a molotov) and ambient-sounds for sectors (like birds in woods, barking
dogs at a citynight, etc.) and more.

At the top of the mainpage, there is a little icon named members, there you can search for member-names. When you read a message posted by sevenfm,
there will be some links at the bottom leading to his stuff. If you follow the link you can download, there is also a readme for instructions.
Some of the newer mods (from 2019), like AV (ArulcoVacations by EdMortimer) and Venegeance Reloaded (by Hawkeye) allready use simular exe-files from
sevemfm.

If you feel like stay a back from all this complicated sounding installation-instructions, you could try the "Unofficial Modpack" by sevenfm, also in
the signature under postings by sevenfm. Like the name hints, it's a pack of mods. This way you'll only need one instal for several mods which you then
can choose from Ini-Editor. There is "7609en+AI-modpack" for mods based on 7609 and "unstable modpack" for mods that work with a newer build. The readme
there will give instructions and links for "7609-modpack". For installation it's pretty much your original and then unzip one of those, a few decissions
in ini-editor and your ready to go, that's it. You can also search for YT-videos to see what this is doing. In the 7609-one, DL is included, in the other
one there should be UC-113. And many more.

As you see, I highly advertise this modpack. I think it's a very convinient way to explore most mods, especially for new/long-time-absent players and the
not so dumb AI (enemy) and other tweaks are fun. No installation-hussle, quick start - can't be any better.

I guess, there are many ways. If you feel like supporting finacial you can look at mainpage "Become a Patron", there you can spend money or buy merchandise.
If you don't feel like doing so, I would say the most important thing is keep asking questions, read others questions and if you think you can help, try to.
Read the tons of threads and if you come across something you wanna try for yourself, give it a go. Not everything needs coding-knowledge, don't be afraid.
And if this is too much hussle, just play, have fun and give the authors a feedback. Just participate in the forum and keep it alive.

At least, that's my opinion and aproach.
