Hi everybody, started porting my maps for a minimod on Straciatella.
Went through crazy times like not understanding why Strac doesn't load some maps that were saved by the 1.13 editor in another format than the standard v. 1.12 one, did a thorough play through and found out Strac doesn't like some map edge points from my maps...rectified that.

I have a map that loads perfectly in the editor but doesn't load in the game, resulting in crash to desktop with some error code I don't understand and know nothing about: https://www.mediafire.com/file/fywxtci2c6dxn9c/l10.dat/file Can somebody help?

Besides the maps (without that L10 that I cannot do anything about), I've made new images for the existing guns and some modifications to mercs (Danny is night ops-ambidextrous, Len learns, Reaper is rooftop specialist, rebels are a bit more useful now).

Your mod sounds fun, and I want to try it out happy

1.13 uses a different map data file format (documented in the link below[1]), and the map items are very different. Maps have to be in vanilla format.

L10 crashes at processing merc (civilian) schedules. It appears the solider/merc list in the map is corrupt or something?

The crash was a segfault:

Thanks, I'll try deleting schedules and adding them again. I'll let you know if it works.

PS: Glad someone actually had the time to look into that. And to say something here, I mean c'mon over 80 downloads and no word at all...

Ran into a minor problem.

Sector G6 needs 7 bloodcat placements. I just got "ambushed" by bloodcats there, but no bloodcats could spawn.

It seems the Straciatella team made it so Deidranna wouldn't show up if the cheats are used. Wanted to add my latest maps to it, including P3 and I had to play it to the end normally. Deidranna finally appeared. Waiting for some friends to confirm she shows to end the game and then I will add the download link.

To add a new sector, you need to create a Stracciatella mod.

You can add the sector map file in MAPS/ but it will not be accessible. You will need to patch strategic-map-movement-costs.json and put it in a mod directory. In the file you tell the game which sectors are accessible and from which directions.

See also strategic-map-traversibility-ratings.json.

I made a new version of the maps.
And made the rebels join immediately, they are so useless after 5 towns.
The maps in the S-E of the country are there, but they are not added in the json files. You can look at them in the editor.
Anyone who wants to do an edit to add them to the game is welcome. Anyway, I cannot make a mod like the one DerekC has made for the Wildfire maps, with installer and all the stuff for Linux and Mac.

We don't need an installer for this, as the resource files are there already. Wildfire maps mod installer is there to extract resources from SLF files.

BTW, sector garrisons are defined in army-garrison-groups.json. I can add the JSON config when I am ready for my next play through ;)

Been playing the maps renamed, rectified some wrong room numbers as well as a rooftop problem. Also added 2 maps that replace original maps in lush tileset, one that I really don't like.

Edit: a new version is available with various fixes and the two town sectors that remained unchanged, San Mona D5 and C5. Link has been updated. Comes with a saved game to test the new San Mona maps.

I have already found a room number problem, and The Scorpion helped me by discovering some 1.13 legacy items in Orta, appearing as "small name".
It is very important to me that people who play this campaign report if they encounter any problems, I can only play so much...

Do you think the road from Estoni to Meduna and the road from Grumm to Meduna need some attention? You do not get heavy weapons in the original maps like you do if you come from Balime to Meduna with my maps.

Edited road south of Grumm, Hicks sector, bloodcat lair, minor edits to other maps. Added 2 farmland sectors that come from AR mod, by JAsmine and Beka (c7 and 8).

I'm playing this now, liking it a lot so far (thanks!), though ran into a glitch at Drassen Airport.

Barry can open the door in the screenshot, but he can't get inside or access the filing cabinet because there seems to be a desk or something across the door.

Thanks! I have one that's slightly odd, but not necessarily a problem. I was ambushed by bloodcats in G6, but there are a bunch of buildings in G6 (I guess you added these?). Not really a problem, but my squad is sitting on a roof sniping the bloodcats down below, which as I say is slightly odd. Maybe this sector should not have a chance of bloodcat ambush now that it has buildings?

That map was done for 1.13, a decent fight with...too many enemies. You'll notice rooftops also in San Mona mine and the N-E Meduna sector, where bloodcats have no chance.

It would be great. I have made two modifications to the maps since the last release. You kind of said you'd do the JSON files for the maps I added in the S-E...or am I wrong?

Has anyone else got a crash when loading D2 SAMsite map?
It doesn't happen all the time, in some games I had everything going well. And I do not have the knowledge to see what could be wrong with that D2 map.

I got crash every time when I was tried to enter there. It seems that map has to be damaged or something similar or you added something what game does not know how to load. I deleted this map, then original one was loaded.

I do not know of anything that should cause the crash in that map...

I recommend when starting a new game to save before arrival in Omerta and then check with cheats if the D2 map loads correctly. If not start a new game...as I said it doesn't happen all the time.

I have found the D2 map bug. I had similar problems while I was modding maps. Most probably game thinks you put two items in one spot (walls and anti-tank hedgehogs), that's why the game don't know how to load and crashes. I have deleted all walls on building marked on the picture below and map has been loaded succesfully all the time.

Here is my save game and edited D2 map. On original Azazel's map crashes all the time, but when I edit this map with deleting walls on marked building, then everything works fine.

Or you can delete all the hedgehogs and lantern there, but I did not test it.

Thanks, Inveris. There was indeed a hedgehog that was interfering with the wall in the top corner of the building you highlighted.

Now the only inconvenience in this map pack that I know of is that at the fight club in San Mona Spike sometimes misses from the entrance. Do not approach Darren van Hausen for fighting if Spike is not on the entrance. Come back later, after 1800 hours and Spike will be there and the Kingpin coming sequence will be unaltered.

You have made several mistakes with Spike, that's why it doesn't work. Once again I had similar problems when I was modding maps a years ago.

First of all, you have changed the position of Spike, but you didn't check the value of appearance. It's not your fault because the map editor has a bug here and if you change position of any merc, then sometimes map editor is deleting the original appearance value.

Look at the picture below on the appearance value. You have nothing there, but it should be "Stay in Sector".

Secondly there must be only one entrance door to that bar. Otherwise there allways chance to talk to Darren without talking to Spike.

Thirdly you put Spike on the wrong place. He must be directly on the entrance door, not next to them.

Fourthly you didn't change the NPC DATA number 93. Original number of spot where is standing Spike is 9817 and when he allow us to enter, he is moving to spot number 9818.

In your case the numbers should be: 12690 and 12691. Otherwise the game will not know what to do with that kind of contradiction.

Unfortunately it seems, that this option "Spike is occupying tile 9817" is hardcoded in source code in file "Quests.cc" in line 625. So if you want to change Spike's position, you will have to compile your own version of exe file.

I think it's pointless to have own exe file to a map mod. The best choice should be bringing back Spike's position to original tile 9817 and rearanged entrance to that bar.
