Hi everyone, first time posting but have been enjoying the modding community for a very long time, long enough its time to contribute something myself so for the past two months ive been working on a remake of JA2 in the Unreal Engine.

I dont plan to remake the whole game by myself, particularly I cant really do graphics and sound assets so just hoping to recreate the engine and release it free and open source for anyone to do what they like with.

Its super early but at a *ahem* playable state so if anyone would like to try you can get it here

fixed a few bugs that snuck in, although when ya not finished everything feels like a bug haha

mostly bug fixes and cleanup but its coming along

new features are the temporary mod interface and stamina/knockdown system

This looks really cool and promising!

The unit scale seems really off or maybe I'm not understanding the distance measurement correctly, but the distances shown seem much smaller than what it's reporting in the latest vid.

what do you mean by distance? the walk distance or shooting etc? if its walk its probably because it now calculates the full path not the direct distance so zig zag routes take longer

tonnes of changes so lots of bugs haha

most notible

-support for multiple teams/factions include multiplayer when i get to that
-optional simultaneous turns for AI, much faster but not my preference
-basic laptop screen, more mercs and insertion points
