KSM - Kingpin's Side Mod is now available to download and play.

KSM features:

KSM is essentially a spin-off from DSM (Deidranna's Side Mod). In KSM, we start in San Mona and play from Kingpin's perspective with the objective to overthrow and dethrone Deidranna. Various new maps are added to account for this change compared to DSM. Also some maps that were always friendly in DSM may now be hostile and vice versa.

Otherwise the features from DSM apply, i.e. more convenient NIV, more interactive combat/maps, huge number of RPC's, large number of custom maps etc.

There are two ways to download and install;

If you already have Deidranna's Side Mod installed, you can unpack the small install 7zip 'KSM Update' inside the folder where you have DSM installed. You have it correct if the KSM folder sits alongside the DSM folder.

If you don't have DSM installed already, make a fresh Ja2 (english) install and unpack the full install 'KSM Full' inside the folder where your ja2.exe sits.

Play by starting with the ja2_r8734_368fbd.exe DO NOT use the ja2.exe!

Maybe it should be in different thread...

Not very far with my game yet, but:
One funny thing - just like in DSM, cutting the fence starts hammer animation.
One annoying thing - 4.7 ammo just disappears. In DSM I sometimes could load it - from crates, not from boxes - but not now. And 4.7 magazines are rare. Sometimes other ammo boxes also disappear at loading but that is not such a loss.

Love this mod! Is it correct that there is no mobile militia in this mod?
If it does allow mobile militia, how do you create them?

The mod designer said this;

I didn't change enemy pool options, but 1.13 keeps moving such options/settings around throughout various files or remove them from external files. I really don't know where these options have gone tbh. Maybe there are other options useful to make the game harder or easier.

Take a look at this file?

There is a file in /data-1.13/difficultysettings.xml which has, for every difficult setting, various stats and variables stored.

One problem that i've met in other mods but it did bite me more this time: enemy troops located in the same sector having different orders. For example: i take a sam site, start healing, repairing, recruit militia. By the time i have 10 green militia, there are 30 enemy soldiers in the neighbouring sector. i decide to attack them, kill 20 and there is a battle over message - no more enemies on tactical map, i can pick up things from strategical map even if there are still 10 red dots in the sector. Still, i can not give moving order from strat map. the usual way is to move out on tactical and then back for the last ones. Now the enemy was faster than me, got to the sam site and killed my militia before i got there... OK, maybe it's even more interesting that way.

Now a question (or two): is it random or with some time limit when Skyrider begins to refuse flying (and should i shoot him then?) and when zerg rush(es) start (up to 240 enemies out of nowhere)?

Question on Quests/Written orders - How to I find out about quests? I conquer a sector with a ? on the Q map and talk to everyone,
but have no idea what was the quest or if it was completed. Kingpin says he might give email orders, but all I ever see is AAAAAAAAAAAA.
Is there a way to talk to Kingpin to find out what he wants?

I think I figured out part of my question. If you right-click on the sector, it says which quest it might help.
