Hi Folks,
we are still on the search for (one or more) person(s) who are not that perfect C-programmer or graphic artist, but is still willingly to support the big idea of an perfect JA2 1.13.
Requirements:
- beeing familiar with JA2 (A.I.M. page? whats that??)
- have some spare time once a week (I am soooo bored, again...)
- some knowledge of Perl or MySQL ( SELECT( while(<>){ } FROM _$ )
- have some fun setting up a famous Bug Tracking system (yeah, this is petting my ego!)
Rewards:
- Everybody of the C++ hotshots will admire You, every day!
- I'll include You in my evening prayers.
- lot of others will do so, too.
- You are the person which is responsible for having a better and better Game
Job:
- Setting up a local BugZilla Server for training purposes
- adding 'invited' 1.13 coders and artists to privilleged section of BugZilla
- moving this setup (together with l'Alien, I guess) to our official 247 server
- sometimes adding a new software topic or a new coder
- keep an eye to the system.
- have tight contact to us C- and Artwork guys.
interested?
Answer here and/or drop a message to me.
BTW:
l'Alien is still looking for something better and bigger than BugZilla - this is okay!
We should start now with giving our 'customers' a good platform to help us. And giving the coders a tool we they can bundle and manage their efforts.
later, we are able to migrate the old SQL-Database, if needed and if we found a better solution.

I'm a Perl programmer (seven years) with plenty of DBI/SQL experience; I have even more sysadmin/networking kind of experience with *nix (mostly Linux). I even used to do Windows telephone support, so if I really have to resurrect that, I suppose I could. My graphics skills are limited to paper, and I only worked with C once, and that for only a few months in an embedded compiler that handled memory management so I didn't have to.
I've been playing JA2 for years, although I've actually never completed it - I have a habit of deciding that I could have done it better if I just changed this or that, and starting over. Just now starting to try out v1.13.
I would *love* to contribute to 1.13! I can give you a firm commitment of two hours a week, and probably more at the start. I also tend to be very diplomatic communicating with other developers, since I've had to tiptoe around some egos in the past. The only thing I can't offer is a place to host it.
If you think I qualify, let me know, here or privately.
