Had a serious tidy-up of my hard drive. Due to various sites no longer hosting JA editors and the likes, I have archived, (and burnt to CD for safety), all of the following: (NOT in any order)

JA2BetaEditor+MSS32.DLL , 10-07-DATA , DT_MercEdit , JA2-1[1][1].07 , JA2_1.13_Core_HiRes , JA2_1.13_LoadScreens_HiRes , JA2_1.13_Speech , JA2AIO1.2 , JA2CME1.02 , JA2Gold_112_AllInOne , JA2Source , JACE , JAO.V0.2.5.7 , JAPE033src , ProEdit , ScreenShot_Fix , STITools , UC-Utils , BG_1.01B , IMP_Patch , JA2_1.12_Data , JA2_1.13_Data , JA2_1.13_Source , JA2_Editor , JA2AllInOne , JA2DLUS , JA2IEE-Final , JA2TSE110r , JA-gfg-setup , JAPE032 , JMM22 , ProEdit_AddOn , SLF-Explore , TBoAv1.21DT_FingerID(NO idea what this is!!) US_MercEdit , CTH_Info , JA2-1[1].07 , JA2_1.13_Core , JA2_1.13_HotFix_HiRes , JA2_1.13_Source_HiRes , JA2_IE , JA2BE , JA2Edit-PRBeta , JA2SME12 , JA-103-Gold-Patch112 , JA-LSA-SetUp , JAPE032src , JSDTools , RUTVEN_Eng , STI-Edit , JA2UC_QuickFix2 , JA21.07 , UBEngv101 , UNFACE , ITEMFIX , JA2UBEditor , UB-MFE-Beta3 , 2Cabin2 , JA2_Beta_0.95_DE , JA25Source , UBTilesets , LapTopFix.
GAMES: JA1 and JADG

Point of this post is: I can e-mail stuff to people who need various items - subject to my monthly upload limit of 2meg.

Request: If I am missing anything, could someone please e-mail me the missing items?
I am a 'hoarder' of anything JA, you never know for the future!

I cannot guarantee how often I can log-on here, so please bear with me. You can (normally) get me by e-mail: billyfalcon@f2s.com

Hope I can be of some help. Regards to all.

I am trying to find the Weapons Editor that was really easy to use. I think Batman made it or it might be in the JA2Allinone pack. Anyone have any clues?

I like to make it so that my weapons will carry like 99 or 199 rounds so I never have to carry ammo with me and waste slots.

What the devil is 8000 then. I have never heard of this. Very interested to learn here.

I am still getting into the graphics area of JA2, but work has seriously got in the way. Apart from 'looking in', I will be away for about 2 months, maybe with the odd post here and there.

I hope I can still help when possible.

@ Marlboro Man: Do you still have this "mysterious" 8000+ mod (save game) on your hard disk? Jones download link has gone to JA2 nirvana. It would be a pity for the JA2 fans if these files might have been lost.

Right now I'm just playing the newer version (3287) of 1.13. Before that I was playing the older 2085 version. I haven't tried any mods yet. I fire up JA2 1.13 in between other games I play which currently are Tropico 3 and Crysis. I need to try that UC mod. Maybe once I get accustomed to the new 3287 build I'll give it a go.

TBoA, or "The Battle of Arulco" seems to be an old German weapon mod made by Nitrat.
At least thats the result of my research. Almost all available information concerning this mod is located in the German "JA2Basis" forum.
Features include approaches to MGL, flamethrower and attaching some items to certain armor to save inventory space.

Out of curiosity is the 8000+ Savegame compatible with v1.13? Because I was thinking if I could take my six IMP characters and mod them from the start with proper gear, guns, and ammo it may be more fun for a second experience. Assuming I can learn to mod/edit the IMPs.

Yeah, I know... DONT DO IT SKOTT! DONT DO IT! THINK OF YOUR SANITY!! LOL

It's not compatible at all with 1.13 I'm afraid. Mainly because the arrays are so different now that it considers there to be 34 vehicle slots on the 8000+ Hard savegame when I know I have only 2 set in the ini.

It's a purely vanilla mod so play with 1.07 or 1.12 Smile

Hi Skott, I started playing the hard version of the 8000+ save game on Gold this weekend.

First sector (East Omerta) took me 8 hours of my life since my mercs started out with pistols, I waited until nightfall and spent a lot of time positioning 2-3 of my guys to gang up on lonely elites to steal their guns.

After I had a bunch of good guns I had a shootout between half the sector and Vicki plus Meltdown using dual pistols. Since then it has been pretty straight forward. I finished Drassen mine at 6 AM game time sharp, just before daybreak. In the last battle (all same day in the game) my guys were missing a quarter to a third of their APs e.g. Steroid had 18 APs as his maximum because he was so tired.

Yesterday I spent about 10 hours of my life training militia while defending Drassen during the day. Luckily there are only 8-12 attackers about 1-3 times a day, and I already have three sniper scopes, so it is a bit of a turkey shoot even with the occasional elites.

The kingpin goons are not so bad now, I just hose them down with 5.56 hollow points which just makes them lose their breath because they must have good armor, they hardly take any damage. Then Razor steals their AK-74 and clubs them dead with a crowbar, crude, I know...

There are a couple of things I like about Vanilla:
- 360 vision
- enemies tend to see 1-2 or more tiles further than your guys (both day and night)
- elites are truly remarkable opponents
- simple gear (don't have to study Excel sheets to pick guns)
- old inventory is quick to play, not much to choose

Overall Vanilla feels more like an action game, less calculated, more play by how things feel. There are a few things I really wish the Vanilla team would have put in though:

- shortkey to climb/jump (is there really none?)
- being able to move all sector equipment to your cursor position (if enemies/militia can pick it up)
- being able to delete items directly from the sector inventory (instead of using the recycle bin and the follow up confirmation dialog)

Skott, with your current knowledge it might be a new / different experience to play 8000+ again. I played hundreds of hours in 1.13, the 8000+ save game gave me a reason to play Vanilla again. Smile

Page-up/page-down cycles through stances and using page-up when standing next to a roof makes you climb up, page-down when being prone at the edge of a roof makes you climb down.

Initially they cannot move but as you move through patrols do surface alongside the 32 enemies in each sector Wink

Thanks DepressivesBrot, using the page keys is already helpful especially when preparing your guys for an upcoming sector attack. During turn based I don't believe you need to pay APs to go prone to be able to climb down, but I am not super sure about that.

Hi Will Gates, as far as I can tell the 32 are enemies are just standing around and waiting for you to enter their sector, meaning they don't attack adjacent sectors (thank God for that) and they don't move around.

However the "regular" game is still going on "under the hood", so enemy patrols are moving through the same sectors, so if there are already 32 enemies and you didn't "clear" the sector, the sector will have a red question mark and you won't see the enemy patrol approaching.

An example Skott posted a long time ago is that you could (by coincidence) enter a sector which has: 1. the 32 static placed enemies, 2. an enemy patrol of e.g. 12 "resting" in it, and 3. an enemy patrol happening to move through it. As a result you may have to fight around 56 enemies at once, back then (and on Vanilla) this is somewhat of a big deal.

Good. I have popped the save games into the RU 800x600 as an experiment and although it took a while to update the saves it seems to work fine... only played A10 so not an in depth stability test you understand. Just checking to see if the idea works for now. All those enemies require a wider field of view see!
