I've recently loaded up this mod and it's really good stuff. Having tons of fun.
@masguy
The installation for the mod isn't very difficult. Here are the steps I followed and all is working fine. I'm assuming you're running the English version.
1. Do a fresh install of JA2.
2. Install 1.13 on the fresh JA2 install.
3. Unzip "Legion_2_beta"
4. Copy the files JA2L2, profil configuration file, and Starter from the #English - only exe folder to your fresh JA2 1.13 installation.
5. Copy the Data and Data-1.13 folders to your fresh JA2 1.13 install. Overwrite the existing ones.
6. Copy BackEnd.dll, fmod.dll, and Ja2 configuration file to your fresh 1.13 install.
7. Apply patches 3, 4, and 5 by copying the necessary files, use the English exe file.
This worked for me and I'm having a pretty good time. The NPC dialogues will be in Polish, but the interface and everything else remains in English.
On that note, I do have pretty good knowledge of Polish to translate the new writing and NPC dialogue, so if anyone would like me to translate a few lines I can help with that.

Entity,
Thanks very much for the instructions, but I was not being falsely modest when I wrote that I exceed the specs for idiot when they try to make things idiot proof.
So, when you say:
"Copy the files JA2L2, profil configuration file, and Starter from the #English - only exe folder to your fresh JA2 1.13 installation."
A more competant person would know what to do, but I don't, because I don't know which file(s) to copy them to. So if you could indulge my incapacity a little bit further, by providing just a little bit more detail, I and others like me would be in your debt. While I am an idiot about these things I am proficient at others, so, if you ever have any questions about underwater photgraphy, for example, I would be glad to render assistance.

I guess I have to apologize for that complication masguy. That's simply how the file showed up on my system. It was called "Ja2", but was classified as a "configuration file."
