I just took my first run through JA2 v1.13, and I loved it. Great work with the mod, people. Lots of good stuff in there. I decided to go dust of my JA1 disc and play through a bit, and now I'm on JA2 Unfinished Business. Problem is, when I go to import my merc stats from JA2, it fails. I figure that obviously there must be some compatibility issue with v1.13 and UB.

And then I thought, "Wait a sec. Is there UB v1.13 somewhere?" After poking around, I can't seem to determine whether there is or not. Is there a v1.13 mod for UB, and if so, where do I get it? If there isn't, is there any way I can make my JA2 v1.13 stuff transfer to vanilla UB? Help me OB-GYN Kenobi. You're my only hope!

well, i was...back in the days of the "finishing touches". Couldn't get past creating underground sectors in new locations, project was thrashed and the remainders released as they were.

I took the source code from here and worked a little with it. Now it compiles and runs, but there are still some problems. It seems to be that a lot of Jerry Mile code is disabled for reasons unknown to me.

So, i want you to try it (or it) out for yourself and report how broken it really is (because i can't tell much about it as i never played UB).

Btw, i set windowed mode as the default mode. You have to start the game with the parameter "-FULLSCREEN" if you want to have, well, fullscreen mode.

Talking about windowed mode. BirdFlu can you do something about the cursor lock in 1.13, so that it stays inside the window, so that when don't need to use the direction keys to scroll around?

I'm the wrong person to ask about cursor locks. I hate them. They are a huge pain in the ass when debugging. I actually disabled the cursor lock in the laptop screen (in my code). But maybe a solution can be found that pleases both sides.

For JA2-Stracciatella I implemented a simple mechanism: With ScrollLock you can toggle whether the mouse cursor is confined to the game window.

That sounds perfect IMO. I guess i need to find a 1.13 dev and then ask you nicely to share the code so he can put it in. What do you think BirdFlu? would this bother you?

the screenshots imply that the exe is polish. But since it's 1.13 based, there should be ways to have multilanguage support and all that.

but how is it used? I tried using the mod manager and i get errors when i try to have it run UB

Only certain features of 1.13 are compatible with Unfinished Business. So. . . technically no. At this point it would not be 1.13. It would be some sort of hybrid.

Hello,

I believe more people here than just me are interested in another challenge and feel a little bit tired from playing the same vanilla story with Fatima & Co over and over again and don't need every brand-new hyper EXE feature which find their way regularly to v1.13 for being a happy JA2 fan. In that case the new version (1.4) of Jazz's UB-1.13 hybrid (supported by inshy) based on v4462 is probably the best alternative for you:

Download on Polish Jagged Alliance Center

Download mirror on Kermi's FTP
(Thx @ Tais for uploading!)

Install:

1) Fresh install of Jagged Alliance 2 (NOT Unfinished Business !!!)
2) Download and extract the "ub_113_hybrid_1.4" .7z file into a temporary test folder
3) Copy all files located in the extracted "Hybryda UB 1.13" folder into the main folder of your JA2 install and replace any existing files
4) Double click on the "Set JA2UB v1.13 Campaign.exe" and set the language and the campaign you want to play with and click on "Start" finally
