I noticed I'm not the first one to have sound problems(no music, no speech, no gunfire, but the occasional owl hooing at night), and I had just given up. But I just installed 1.13 and now I have the UB MERCs talking, and Speck talking about them, but none of the vanilla sounds work, which is even more distracting. In one thread someone mentioned patching from 1.10 to 1.12. Is that still possible now that I have 1.13? And, just in case my files are corrupt(they're all there, .slf files and wav files), is there anywhere I can get just the sound files?

The only problems I've found with sound have been in Nops , where SOME voices and weapons are missing , files appear to be intact , so dunno what's up either . Any suggestions welcomed .

One thing I've noticed. The vanilla sound files are in a format where there's one .slf with a bunch of .slf_####### files behind them, whereas the functional 1.13 sounds are formatted ###_###.wav and ###_###.GAP. I can play the UB voices in Windows Media, but not the regular voices and music. Is there any way I can use this to fix my problem, even if it takes forever?

1. the slfs are storage system used in ja, that means speech.slf is a packed version of speech (folder), that's why in your speech (folder) there are only the newly added files - that is done with next to any data (pix, maps etc) so if the slf-entpacker didn't work your entire game crashed.

2. as speck (npc_speech) and his personnel (speech) are in different archives you cannot have a single corrupt archive

3. i heard however that several online-repositories/torrents don't have full sound sets

so the big question is: where is your ja from?
