Yesterday I compiled 0.12.1 on my macbook pro, running with game data from 1.10.
Everything works fine: Laptop, Sector view, AIM, IMP, Saving/Loading.
The first sector I come across patrolling enemies (between Omerta and Drassen) however, I go into tactical view. Works well. The first enemy I spot: crash. I get the first bit of the 'enemy-spotted-sample', i get the red dot. But that's the end. Never saw the enemy on screen, and my feeling is that rendering the enemy causes the crash, because my view moves into its direction, but crashes just before.
Error message: Bus Error.
I recompiled as test-version: crashes with assertion failure on line 277 of sgp/vobject.cc
Afterwards, I tried playing with the precompiled version from DiscoBoy (available at http://members.multimania.co.uk/eribr), which I think is 0.8 (lemon). This works without problems, and also doesnt display the loading screens with messed up palette, as my own compiled 0.12.x does.
Any ideas?

Well, I'm back where I started now.
Tactical screen crashes on me with latest build 0.12.1 with a "Bus Error" or "Segmentation Fault". It is consistent, and happens when I spot the first enemy. New game, starting from a previously saved game, sector, all make no difference.
Additionally, the palets of the loading screens and popup portraits (during dialogs) seem f*cked, since I show bright purples and greens everywhere. Don't know if its related.
I can play the Lemon (0. release without problems.
OSX Leopard, MacBook Pro.
Any ideas... anyone?

id suspect palette issues are rather OS and videocard specific. I was positively surprised but palette isnt messed up at all in Windows version. Ati radeon x1600pro here. (it doesnt crash either, and i switch quite frequently)
