yeah but using those would be comparing to smgs with violet ammo. im just pointing out the common ammo drops, the special ammo will only be used on special occasions (i prefer to spend alot on guns and attachments than ammo)
well as for room clearing smg wins hands down coz they are simply too fast, a little further then this quickly goes down.
as for mgs, it also have a low kill per round unless you are really good with spraying the autofire(burst or autofire then hold left click drag the mouse)
i say shotguns has a comparable killing speed of an assault rifle (accuracy vs an all rounder) but ap bullets being common vs slug? very situational
but anyway for me the best 12g shotguns are (with attachments)
pump action = Fabarm FP6 (26ap, 6 pump, to-hit bonus upto 49, small mag makes it easy ammo change and tactical reloads in a pinch) i know its just me, but pump actions makes me do hit & run (shoot, run, pump later)
semi auto = Vepr 12 Tactical (25ap, to-hit bonus upto 41, compatible with voc nad launcher)
auto = AA-12 CQB or USAS-12 (thats speed vs range, take your pick)
the super shorty & sawed off have there own uses, a quick lock buster and fastest shotguns (23ap)
im not 100% sure of this, maybe i missed something like an attachment or some of the less known shotguns.
1 question. is it possible for guns with manual reload to load 1 round at a time? sometimes reloading a whole mag might waste aps to act in a pinch. (sometimes i carry a sawed off just to have 2 rounds per reload lol)

theres a shotgun suppressor? i ll check it out tonight. i didnt see that or maybe its on another mod
edit: another question, is their a reason why we can duct tape or glue attachments aside from it being permanent? does it have some bonus reliability or durability?

oh sorry about that, my english has some errors on it.
on the earlier parts i was talking about suppression (make people hit the deck and lose ap)
edit: and its pretty good especially using the hornets nest
recently im talking about a silencer. i found it on this site

it seems like its a list of Ja2 1.13 items but i dont know which mod, probably all of them or dunno. however its not accurate, a few numbers are not thesame as ingame found on the description of the weapon or item
shotgun silencers would be cool, well not as silent but atleast no flash. this would hurt the shotgun range(chokes have range, rifled barrel as more range and accuracy bonus) but in the game they are still pretty accurate (around 31-39 to-hit)

tested the AIMNASv17, looks really good, many stuff added and changed. some attachment bugs but im not cheating (kobra or ISV or that new red dot can be used together with relfex sight, really fast gun man XD)
from my 12g shotgun experiment here are my results
best pump: fabarm & Kel-Tec KSG
fabarm = choke, silencer, quick tactical reloads and accuracy (up to 50+ to-hit!!!)
Kel-Tec KSG = accurate (30+ to-hit) and speed, beats super shorty (but super shorty wins on reloads coz of small mag) however changing ammo is a pain, 12 rounds just wont fit anywhere but other than that, its good
semi auto = still Vepr 12 Tactical (now compatible with extended mag!)
auto = still AA-12 CQB & USAS-12
needs more testing coz there are so much new stuff. oh and the damage increas in shotguns really made them more awesome XD
edit: remove rant about armor, i just noticed the post is about best gun, not best armor lol

this is harder than i thought, aimed burst changed alot of things smgs still has lower ap even with aimed burst than a shotgun doing snap shot, however fabarm always has 80-90% change of hitting close range (1-5 tiles) even with snap shot, this gave me an idea that shotguns are short to mid range guns but if you have an SMG then smg does better on close range. as for mid range shotguns are a little better than assault rifles (more accurate) but slower.
main advantage of shotguns is the damage and many different shells to choose
edit: tested with IMP marksmanship 55 (low but smg & shotguns are still accurate well with attachments)
