Sometimes I think the enemy should check it's brain cells.
In UB, Bull was taking a happy little scout trip through the underground tunnel leading to the missle base. Then he suddenly came to the view of FOUR enemies.
Alone would have been dead meat, would it not been for one little thing. Bull got the first turn.
One LAW later four little enemies found out that burning to a crisp is bad for your health. :welder:

I found the JA2 demo on a disc that came with a computer mag, back when the demo was new, but knew so little about the medium I never even realized there was such a thing as a readme file. Made the demo somewhat hard to play, but the first time I opened the garage door and blew the whole building up with a burst into that explosive stuff I was hooked.
I played that demo 30-40 times before I finally found JA2. My first game I used a male IMP and headed straight for the Alma Base, dying heroically to 15 buckshot pellets (I didn't quite grasp the difference between Dexterity and Agility - hardly any AP to use). The whole gang got wasted by the gate...
Back then I also believed Buzz when she said that we had nothing to talk about if I were male, which is why I then created my first female merc. Hired Buzz and immediately found that she was my all-time favourite. When clearing San Mona one night, she crouched behind the little house just left of Kingpin's bungalow when she got an interrupt on a goon rushing up to the bungalow window. I told her to plug him in the head, but she just laughed and fired a burst. Three of the five rounds blew the guy's head off, and she was shotting through three windows and a building: through window into little building, through same building, out the far window, across Kingpin's driveway, through the window by his front door, and through the target's skull.
Since then, I've never been annoyed when she goes psycho, even when I operate with hardly any ammo stores.

*edit*
Why should mercs get all the glory? One of my most priceless moments was years ago, in a game where I took Grumm after Chitzena (and no other towns). Then I left to take Drassen (for the BR drops) with all my 6 mercs and was in the middle of that fight when a force of 17 invaders struck at Grumm Mine. I had no fear, having left 20 blue guys there, but just over a minute later they were all dead, having popped just 1 attacker. Loyalty drop, income drop... And before I had time to shout a really juicy oath the fricking invaders rolled on to the west. Of course they took that factory sector as well, losing just 2 more men while killing my 20 militias (half blue).
Furious, I mopped up Central Drassen, hired some cheap MERC scum to handle militia training there, and rushed back for Grumm only to find it was that scum sucking Mike and his Einsatzkommando that had hit me. (Good loot, though - except they had stolen everything I had stashed at the mine...) That was about the hardest blow I had faced in a puny Novice game.

I have the v. 1.13 mod and I decided to take on the second sector of Grumm with my best squad. Cougar, Ice, Lynx, Raven, Reaper, and my IMP guy McKay. I had quite a few nice guns and I went at night. This was on the easiest level, so I thought it would be like Grumm mine; some light damage, but no one seriously wounded.
I dont remember the specifics, but all I know is that Lynx and Reaper died pretty fast. I think Cougar died, but it really didnt matter since everyone was bleeding. That was pretty bad and I was rather embarrased that half my team gets killed at a usually easy mission.
Priceless moment was when Lynx went to the NE SAM site by himself with a VAL silent and killed all of them without getting hurt and without missing.

So many fun moments....
Recently started a new campaign, and 3 moments come to mind-
1- The attack on the Drassen mine- my mercs were preparing to attack from the church. One group had already killed one of the enemy guards, when another tried to flank us. Too bad I had a few guys watching that corner.
He came around the corner, got an interrupt from Steroid, Wolf and Ira. I decided to let Ira get an easy kill, with her suppressed .38 (with HP). In 2 words- BOOM, HEADSHOT!!! I never new that .38 rounds could lead to SEHS.....
2- After taking the first SAM and training 20 rookie militia, the enemy decided to attack- 4 enemies, 20 militia. Sounds like good odds. Anyway, a few seconds in, one of the militia took a flesh wound from the SE. The rest quickly moved that way, and the enemy went down under heavy pistol fire.
Few more seconds- back in real-time, and the militia started to sweep the SE corner. Suddenly, one of them takes a hit from the west- the other 3 had snuck up from the flank, and was in a good firing position. I lost 2 militia, but thankfully I still had my 2 mercs staying in the base, as well as a few militia still spread around the interior.
3- Chitzena. Put simply, Wolf + Franchi SPAS-15 with buckshot + 2 enemy militia = Wolf + SPAS-15 minus 2 shells + 2 corpses. 2 shots, 2 hits, 2 kills, in the one turn. 'Gotta love it!'
Also from other games- accidently rifle-grenading an enemy ammo stash, destroying a building and killing about half a dozen enemies..... having an enemy tank fire a shell at you, which hits a tree/building/enemy soldier that gets in the way..... getting a dozen SEHS headshots in a row with the Barrett in UB....
One Barrett M82A2- $6000
40 rounds of ammunition- $4000
Having enemies heads explode left, right and center- priceless. :diabolical: Also, once I got a chest shot (not enough AP for an aimed shot), and the target flew back, like when you go rock-and-roll into them.

One quick moment that made me fall out of my chair laughing tonight.
First off this is on Med dif w/ 1.13
I'm clearing out the Drassen mines and just moved to the second sector when after loading a bug was about 3 tiles away from my mercs...Oh Sh$# I think....it takes one step and Bubba get the inititive(sp?). Now I didn't wanna take any chances so I tell him to autofire 10 rds at it to kill it(hopefully I'm thinking). What does Bubba do you ask???? He unloads about 18-20 rounds into the thing!!! Killing it of course.
Now this in itself isn't very priceless..BUT..after the kill I hear Bubba "Bu-bu-bubba l-loves his gun" which is a G36c w/ c-mag adapter I gave him for just this mission.
I couldn't stop laughing! All I could think of the other squaddies giggling at this giant man making lovey noises to his rifle in the MIDDLE OF THE MINES!!!

Problem solving.
Has to do with the so-called "burst bug",but it's something probably worth-mentionning: one of those late night games, the Vengeance mod, with a "terrific sniper" involved: "Ilya Dolvich",psycho char with on roof bonus to hit and auto weapons as skills...level 7,perfect physique, marksmanship 99...
Nerves...about 28 unfortunate enemies already down,Igor,Ivan and a Iuri IMP,bla,bla,bla.
Anyway,it went something like this:
-Igor,having already shot an enemy interrups and signals another one, with 4 a.p. left, and retreats
-Ilya interrups his advancement, from the roof nearby, at about range 12,and gets the order for a simplissime torso shot, and...with a Steyr H-bar T,he goes psycho!
Correct me if wrong, but we are talking here about a quadruple bonus:1)laser,2)rooftops,3)auto weapons,4)psycho-but he misses every one of those 5 bullets. And,even more grave,he misses the whole 5-burst that followed,too...
- the bastard bursts Igor's head off,leaving him dying;
-major Ivan Dolvich, further back, takes care of things "the russian army way": he uses the mortar to instantly incinerate that enemy. Then, the next turn, he uses the RPG to solve the other problem.
What other problem?Ah,you know, just the little problem with a big mouth, and $ 3,000 as salary per day.

sometimes you can`t hit the torso from an enemy when on roof because of the edge of the roof. You can see the enemy becasue you see his head, but you can only hit his head.
In 1.13, the hit chance calculator would indicate this, but in ja2 vengeance, there is no such thing...

Reading this thread reminds me of one battle I encountered in WF.
I was on my way to Grumm, via Estoni, during the night. I had to pass the road which connects Cambria and Grumm, when my AlphaStrike team encountered a mountain outpost. The map indicated 20 soldiers defending the sector.
I was just beginning to maneouver my team when I got interrupted by a bloodcat roar - scheisse!! - I had to pull back and let the enemy handle the blood suckers. While all of this was happening, I was fortunate enough to run back for cover. The bloodcats were only able to kill one soldier. After the smoke cleared, I proceeded with my attack.
I setup my ambush squad behind the trees overlooking a steel fence with an opening. I was able to take out 11 guards as they rushed to investigate the source of gunshots. When no one else was willing to fall into the trap, I tried to flank the sandbag fortifications from the left. I was quite sure that there were at least three snipers, while the 4 sandbag fortifications were hiding the remaining soldiers.
Sure enough, I got interrupted and one of them threw a break light - exposing the only passage I had. My front-assault tandem was forced to pull-back, after sustaining some injuries, while my back-ups were providing some cover fire. My medic quickly attended to the wounded while my back-ups are now being overwhelmed by mortar fire.
I was trying to hold my ground when suddenly, my medic saw some enemies coming from behind. I was thinking, "Shit man!, the enemy cannot be this good to outflank me" ... and there was not only one, two or three enemies. It was like a scene from Attack of the Clones. In the end, my worst fear was confirmed - an invasion squad of 20 soldiers was passing by and now acted as reinforcements. They were heavily equipped.
As I desperately tried to carve out an escape route, there was no denying that this was the end. Running exhausted with open wounds, I was trying to hold them back by throwing grenades. I got a turn where all were gathered in one area trying to catch their breath. But with a wicked smile from fate, .... SWOOOOSH .... a single LAW toasted them all.
What a waste ... I remember this one like it was yesterday :luckystrike: ... it's good to be back - YEAH!!!

One of my best moments was in a game playing UC..
I had decided that it would be a great idea to use the subway under calisto, thinking all the gangers would be using nothing but shovels and boxcutters, like the gang members under the starting town. As it was, I had little in the way of firepower, mostly pistols and low-end SMGs that i had picked up from enemy patrols. I was using the mercs my IMP, a expert night-ops specialist, MD, Grizzly, and Barry.
When my mercs charged in, they managed to frag a bunch of the gangers, despite my surprise at them actually being armed, and Barry unloaded his shotgun (kindly provided by the police) into the leader there, Slicer.
When the entire gang swarmed me, my mercs ran for cover past the ticket-takers, and took shelter behind a corner all the way down the hall. Despite my best efforts, (and several reloads) I was going down in a blaze of gunfire. Believing I would have to redo the entire battle, I wanted to leave a lasting mark before reloading. I had my IMP run right past the corner, had him drop some TNT I had found, set it for a single turn, and had him run back with what little APs he had left. While I didn't see the direct effects of the explosion, the sound of burning prevailed, and the few bold gang members who had tried to charge me became a nasty new coat of paint on the general area. As it turned out, almost all of the gang members had been perched right around that corner, and I won the rest of the battle fairly easily.
I remember plenty of situations that dynamite could be well-used in UC, but I doubt that any of them would have been as effective (and gory) as against a full group of unarmored gangsters. Messy...

Wildfire 5.0, no mods.
There I was happily removed all the enemies from ground floor in Orta. So, on to the basement. Put Fox and Wolf in line at doors that lead to the building where walter was. Went with AE to speak to walter. Gave him 20000 and I was just waiting with Wolf to hit him, after all 20000 is not something to throw. So wally comes up to Wolf and I was looking what will he do. He swapps place with Wolf and I was WTF?! Can he DO that? I better hit him. Up goes Wolf fist right down into Fox with whom wally swapped the place in that instant. Bang goes fox down unconcious. I was stunned for a moment then began to laugh so hard I fell out of chair.

Playing v1.13 for the first time, I cleared out the bottom sector of Drassen and settled the team in for a couple of days of resting, training militia, repairing kit and patching up wounds. I've played vanilla JA2 through dozens of times, so imagine my surprise when more troops than I can shake a stick at attack from the east, south and west.
As soon as I realise just how many troops bearing down on my team, I put Sidney on a roof to the south-west, Len on the roof of the toilets, watching east with MD covering his rear. My IMP merc is doing her best to support the ten green militia that have come from the north to support us. Once the enemy start to get dropped, I'm convinced that it's just a matter of standing my ground and putting enough rounds down.
Then Len gets shot to pieces. I send MD to grab his Garand, but the enemy get an interrupt and he takes a couple of bursts and drops. I start to move my IMP down to try and slow the advance from the east. She stumbles across some blackshirts, so I decide to have her put a burst down at them, hoping that they hit the dirt so she can scarper towards Sidney's position. By some amazing fluke of luck, she hits both of them in the legs, which gives her just enough time to get away from them.
Sidney's doing alright for himself, picking off troops coming down the track south of the mine office. However, just as he puts his last round to good use, blowing his last target's head open, three grunts let rip on him from the north. He manages to get on the ground and snatches up a Skorpion and returns fire.
Meanwhile, my IMP is letting the militia get shot to pieces while she heads to support Sidney. Just as she gets within range to bail him out, he gets slotted.
Plan B: I send her to the mine office. As she gets to the doorway, opportunistic redshirts fire about ten rounds at her. Miraculously, she's not hit and manages to shut the door. Taking up position in the corner, I hope that the enemy are stupid enough to pour in and not notice her hiding by the door, giving her a chance to put a round in their earholes.
By now, she's down to about ten rounds for her MP5K, a SPAS-15 with two shells, a fully-loaded .38 revolver and a blade. If worst comes to worst, she can always use the TNT she found in the office to take a few of them with her.
It goes well for a while, and she manages to kill four or five. She's emptied her MP5K and her shotgun. For kicks, I let her take a head as a trophy.
Then nobody attacks through the door for a while, and, just like an idiot, I get her to have a look outside. Two blackshirts about ten squares away and unload on her, hitting her a couple of times. She empties the revolver at one of them and scores a lucky headshot, which drives him away. The other charges her position. With just a machete and not enough time to charge the last one and lop him off at the neck, desperation takes over and she throws the severed head at him. It hits him and does a little bit of damage.
Of course, next turn he just shot her in the face and killed her outright.

Take one IMP with a Mosin-Nagant 1891. Add three redshirts who obligingly stand in a line over about ten squares. With only enough APs for one shot, thank your deity of choice when that shot turns the first two grunts' heads into meat confetti then embeds intself in the skull of the last. Then laugh like an idiot because it was really, really funny at the time.

The mod1.13 offers a variety of new moments, which feel just real.
:rifle: There are the sniper duels. Sector E3, 3pm, my fife mercenaries against 20 red shirts, watch out for snipers. Monica has got an M24 with sniperscope. My squad gets in position behind vegetation. Monica hides behind rocks. We get sight of some of them patrolling unaware of my presence. My camoed spotters approach the first one of them and try to get into throwing range to take him out silently. They screw. The red shirt turns around and realises my spotters. Now we have to keep cool. Monica takes out the first victim with a thunder strike of her sniper rifle, a bullet to the head.
The enemy comes running. The first three are easy prey but soon the others find the weak spot of my position. There is a group of trees in the north, which provides good cover for the approach. The sniper rifle is useless against them running among the trees. My squad is buisy to keep them in distance but more and more of them get close. The situation would be under control, if there was not the sniper. Every turn a Nato 7.62x51mm bullet crosses the plain to the west and strikes one of my mercs. Movement is not an option. As soon as we would leave the cover, the enemy would take out most of us out from the north. Monica turns around but she is too far behind to see the sniper. Every turn the crack of his breech-loader sounds frightening after the thunder of his shot dies away.
Dimitry gets killed. "He fought for his country, ..." But we manage to break the assault from the north. Luckily the sniper misses some shots. Now Monica can leave cover and go for him. Now it is him or her. The rest of us is buisy caring for wounds at a postion out of range.
Moica crouches west: move, look through the scope, move again, ... A bush to the west probably keeps her invisble to the sniper. - And there he is! A redshirt prone, his weapon drawn, no cover. He killed Dimitry! He seems to be waiting for new prey and he does not see Moica in the first place. Monicas first shot misses and even worse, he becomes aware of her behind that bush. His bullet does not miss. Monica is severely wounded and has only the AP to crouch out of range. She cares her wounds than. But the sniper comes running and shoots again. - Miss - One of my bandaged mercs takes Monicas rifle and she crouches further away. Now the sniper is only crouching and I hit him once. He goes prone and reloads his chamber. Than we exchange two bullets. Both miss. But my next one brings about a decision. He gets hit severely. His next shoot comes inaccurate. Then the last one bullet in the gun takes him out for good.
The rest is taking out some remainings to the north. This is easily done with the sniper rifle once it is posible to reach a new vantage point. Oh man! This battle was priceless in deed.

Wildfire had some serious glitches.
Like, I snuck into the palace. With my 5 death commandos (Gus, IMP, Conrad (even though Ira had better level), Miguel, Len)and Grizzly to haul Gus' shells.
Barry got captured elsewhere at the same time (d'oh, appeared infront of a tank and 3 blackshirts). Barry got killed by the first guard, chest explosion :luckystrike: . To the place where the cutscenes happened. "The Queen will make you pay!" Elliot is dead :luckystrike: .
Now for the real priceless moment. Grizzly walks out of the palace. "Rot with your friends in hell!" The Queen! Outside the palace!
Dedrianna is dead :luckystrike: .
Courtesey Grizzly, firing 3 rounds of buckshot from a modified Remington, with one hand. :scan:
You are terminated.
Screenshots on request. Notice Elliot in top right corner and Grizzly owning the Queen.
Wow. Long post. But it was a long story.
EDIT: Rather than double posting.
Started new game.
Got Drassen, Rebels, Cambria without too much trouble.
Enemies save IMP!
Near Chitzena, my IMP gets hit on 15 by a bastard with an UZI.
And I realise: my assault squad is too far from the medic (Nails. He got tired, so I left him behind.) IMP meets Nails(half asleep) halfway.
Nails runs out of bandages! (By this time IMP had a MUCH) larger wound. Dang. IMP drops all equipment, hauls his behind into Chitzena and surrenders to the first blackshirt. Now he's halfway healed as opposed to dead. Though I have to bust him out. Do the enemies execute your team member when you try to get him out?
EDIT: No one else is posting... ya'll waiting for a newer topic?
Anyway, I got a real simple and priceless moment: inspired by one of the knifing threads, I created a NO/knifer IMP. In the Drassen mine, he and Q get on a roof with one sniper there. They get the drop and IMP makes a dash towards the sniper...INTERRUPT! ah, bye, IMP... but the interrupt was made by a guy on the ground. He fires 2 bursts and blows the sniper clean off the roof, 166 dammage. Not a single scratch to IMP. And the shooter made that evil laugh (you know, anytime an enemy kills a militia they're like: "Alright.." "EHEHE") Next turn, the traitor got pwned by a burst from IMP's Mac.
(let's see if I can take up a whole page, just expanding this post.)

V1.13 Iron Man mode
My men were attacking a sector between Drassen and Cambria during the night. It happened to be one of those random weapon stashes, so opposition was fierce. Hopefully I had Scope and Gaston who are skilled at night ops, equipped with Level II night vision. Even though there were about 18 redshirts in the area, my merc had a clear advantage of vision range. My mercs had dealt with most of the opposition, when suddenly 3 aggressors come running at them out of the dark. Scope and Gaston had interrupts and killed two of them, but the last one targeted poor Ira and fired his AK74 on full auto – she got hit 3 or 4 times and her Zylon vest hasn't stopped the bullets.
She fell down with only 1 health point left. Fortunately my IMP (doctor-militia trainer) was close enough to start bandaging her in the same turn, and in the next one Scope took down this last enemy with a headshot from her PSG-1.
Ira was then evacuated by helo to Cambria hospital. She was carrying all the weapons and items dropped by the enemies during the fight, so she was 200% encumbered. While she was running to the hospital, she gained a health point. I discovered that being heavily wounded is a great opportunity to practice strength and health. I gave her all the available canteens and made her run around the hospital. Her energy was dropping rapidly, so she had to constantly drink to keep her going. It was a sadistic exercise, but she ended up with 10 more strength and health points.

Playing Vanilla JA2 1.06
My B squad (Ice, Thor, Devin, Fox, Numb, Barry), which had just taken the Sam Site south of Chitzena, was going down the west coast road toward Grumm (which had just been liberated by squad A: IMP, Magic, Grunty, Blood, Danny) when they encountered an 12-men enemy patrol. None of my mercs were trained in night ops, and considering the fact that none of my mercs had NVGs, I chose wisely to retreat one sector north and to wait for the day to go on. But the enemy patrol followed me and entered the sector where I had just retreated.
I decided to face the ennemy and took cover, waiting for them to appear. Bad choice: it was a patrol of 12 elites. I managed to kill 4 or 5 of them but all my mercs where badly hurt. I decided to retreat but I soon as I moved out of cover, I was shot from 3 sides by snipers I couldn't see. Magic, Numb and Devin died first. Next turn, Thor was killed as he was covering the retreat of Fox and Barry. I began to run and got to the edge of the map where I quickly tried to bandage my two remainings mercs before exiting the sector. But the elites had followed me: Fox takes in bullet in the back and dies. Barry is wounded and manages to run away. He stops near a tree, tries to bandage himself and is shot in the back too by an elite. My whole squad has just been slaughtered.
In the morning, I sent my A squad to the sector to get the equipment of their fallen comrades. What they saw was horrifying: dead bodies of my mercs all over the map, that could be found thanks to the trail of blood they left during their desperate attempts to run away.
Needless to say, I quickly found the remaining elites in a nearby sector and killed them all, cut their head and left them in the sector where so many of my mercs had died.

1.13.
Ira vs. four elites.
Ah yes, I had ordered a whole lot of stuff from BR and Ira was supposed to go get it.
She had been helping my main squad with taking Alma a while back. Mostly medic work so she only had some busted zylon armor, a Glock 18 loaded with regular ball ammo, two 9mm HP mags and some healing supplies.
So, as she wandered off from Alma, she got confronted by an enemy patrol a few sectors out. Four elites. Like the remains of some militia battle.
Since I didn't feel like retreating and me being VERY tired of hearing "YOU'VE GOT MY EAR!" I figured she might as well go out in 9mm full auto glory.
As she charged into the middle of the sector she SOMEHOW managed to get behind an elite without being detected. He was standing about 15 tiles away.
Well, since we all know how amazingly bad Ira is with firearms, I didn't even bother to get any closer. Instead I just set her Glock to full auto, took aim, pumped out 15 rounds and hoped for the best... or worst.
I was stunned. 6 rounds (!) hit! Mr. Elite was sent flying as a bloody mess and thumped down on the ground as Ira bursted out in sinister laughter.
Opponent's turn. Instantly Ira sees a female elite running towards the sound of gunfire. Ira, standing out in the open with no cover whatsoever probably wet her panties a little at that moment.
She takes a 5.56 in the chest and loses 25 hitpoints. Everything else misses.
My turn. This time, the opponent being almost 30 tiles away, Ira decides to get behind some cover.
There's a huge rock nearby. Lucky for her. Too bad she used up all her AP getting there. Not enough to crouch.
Didn't really matter. The female "elite" missed 3 out of 3 shots.
My turn again. Ira crouches, reloads her trusty Glock and hopes for a miracle. With a hasty rat-tat-tat, another clip is empty. 2 hits. No damage. Man, that HP ammo sure does suck.
Opponent's turn again. This time, another elite shows up. Huge guy with a LMG. He fires 8-10 rounds in hopes of hitting something. 3 hits.
Too bad for him he hit his female ally... in the back... killing her. Aww. Too bad. Diedranna doesn't teach proper military tactics, it seems.
Ira spills some blood on her last mag and reloads.
Can't be as wasteful any more. Would probably never hit at this range either... even if she was aiming.
I decided to try getting closer. She dragged herself to another rock, about 7 tiles closer and got down on the ground. Problem. Another elite was standing next to the LMG guy. Good eyes Ira, good eyes.
Couldn't see what was happening during the opponent's turn so I just hope for the best.
Me again. Ira gets up (after bleeding some more). The LMG guy was gone and the other fellow was standing about 8 tiles away. YAY! Seems he wasn't wearing his helmet since he went down after two 9mm rounds to the face.
Nothing happened during the next turn. Ira didn't even hear a sound of movement.
Ira decided to do some looting.
The guy that took two in the face had an AK-103 on him... with a SCOPE! YAY!
After getting properly armed, bandaged and hopped up on speed (energy booster), she went off to finish the two remaining guys. She didn't have to go far. Both the badguys were waiting behind some trees a few tiles away. They got an interrupt and Ira lost 12 hitpoints.
Now, here's where things got a bit odd. Or should I say even more odd.
Ira got down and put two bullets in Mr. LMG with the help of a little full auto. How the hell did that happen? Even worse, the other guy was also hit. Mr. LMG lost 34 hp and the other guy 11.
Both the elites missed every single round the next turn.
Ira then put a hole in Mr. LMG's face and he went down. The drugs had worn off by this time so she couldn't shoot the other guy.
Next turn. Figured I was dead for sure. Wrong. That stupid SOB threw a smoke grenade at Ira and then didn't do a thing. Whaa-aaaat?
Ira got out of the smoke in a cool action hero way and got in two lucky head shots. The poor moron slumped down, dead and stupid hoping for a better afterlife. Ira had won. IRA! A WINNER! WOO! Unreal, I know.

Well well... this one happened in UC, in Drassen (or whatever it's name is in UC) airport. It was night, and my IMP(NO expert), Buzz, and Raven were raiding the place. We got to the front gate and no further. The enemies kept running into us from inside the gates, one by one, and my troops were chrouching behind some sort of booth, with windows to every direction. Not sure anymore, but I think they all had Agrams.
I just waited 'til they got close enough and then fired on. Buzz kept going psycho at times, which was very convenient, when I couldn't get all of them done before they were able to shoot back. There were some 20 enemies + the cops (is there a reason why they all are hostile?) and my troops didn't get a single scratch!
Hiring three mercs with good marksmanship: About 30,000$.
Getting the guns from the lockers in police station: A whole lot of patience.
Killing 30 enemies without getting a scratch: PRICELESS!

I had fun in Grumm once with militia. I was doing a daytime assault and thought I'd take advantage of the roaming militia - so I wound up with 20 militia reinforcing my 6 mercs. Most of them exhibited the usual dumb militia behaviour - running out into the open in front of enemies, tossing smoke grenades everywhere - but ONE militiaman... well. With his trusty Mosin-Nagant, he took down a good half-dozen soldiers, including at least two Elites, that were heading towards my mercs. Didn't move or anything, just sat there picking them off - I think the only shot he missed was a little later, when the soldiers caught on to the massacre and started camping in the warehouses - he shot at a guy on the roof and missed.
Man, I would have recruited that guy as a merc in a second. My own mercs miss at least a quarter of the sniper shots they make at that range.
