To me....
If they are going to make the same game, by updating it with modern advances in technology, they should keep most of the game composure intact.

It depends how much they actually own, which is something I'm not clear on (hence "if they can"). From what I have found, they own "full rights" to the series... but I don't know if they now possess copyrights for the currently released games.
Anyone able to clarify? (Or further muddy :blah:)
The way I see it, being able to reuse assets would allow them to spend more money on gameplay, and avoid the risk of cruddy replacements (especially if the devs are German -- fine for German speakers, but the English dub may suffer). It would restrict them a bit, since they'd a little limited in what new situations they could implement, but it is supposed to be a remake rather than a completely different game .

I respectfully disagree about Dragon Age's system being "good".
I find it pretty boring.
I should have learned to code ... I would have been able to contribute to a new graphic engine.
That is all we are missing from having a whole new game built by the community already, is it not?

I like this:
Quote: And just like before, the game will give you the choice to play these battles in real time (if you happen to be totally insane) or in turn-based mode (if you're sane).
Quote:From what we can tell from our brief demonstration, Back in Action brings back all the elements of the classic tactical strategy game, including limited action points for each mercenary to spend each turn on movement, reloading, firing, throwing grenades, using explosives, patching up wounded teammates, and so on. If you happen to be carrying an automatic weapon, you can also still set your firing mode to single shot, burst, and full auto. Back in Action also uses Jagged Alliance 2's line-of-sight system, which displays each character's field of view as a triangular cone on the ground radiating outward, and just like in the original game, your best bet, at least early on, will be to stay low, stay out of sight, and pick off enemies one by one.
..but this makes me remain cautious:
Quote:The early version of the game we saw was still using placeholder in-game assets

Meh, the dude is talking way too fast, plus it is all poser nonsense, the words exist, but the way he uses them is unusual, not normally used, or the context does not fit, has no meaning. He is basically some guy who was given a demo and describes what he sees while utilizing a list of key points he got from bc. He says most of the stuff you see is not final, just a proof of concept for the bc dudes to check if they are on the right track. (Well, and I hope you don't need to empty 30 round magazines from 10 feet way at each other with no visible effect.)

I can see your problem ... he basically tries very hard to be funny by using some kind of generic slang, unusual terms and stupid pronunciation ... it's the usual 'style' of that magazine.
DieterHe is basically some guy who was given a demo and describes what he sees while utilizing a list of key points he got from bc.
Yeah, my feeling as well ... it's all so congruent with the cr** bc normally feeds us, there must be some kind of 'hey you get an alpha preview, but don't speak badly of it' agreement.

Hope that as well, having seen those fights, WH40k has higher hit rates.
