I have been trying to Solo it and have discovered that in solo "mode", I encounter the FrOzEn TuRn Of EtErNiTy! much more often than with a group of mercs (in fact, hasn't happened yet to my group that I left outside Meduna...). This is frustrating, as it is already hard enough to keep the little bugger alive, and when you are on a streak and almost have the sector clear, it craps out. And yes, this is 1.12 Gold (ooh shiny!). Now, it usually happens after I've fired the first shot (nightOps Smile ) and then it goes to their turn and... nothing. Just the stupid clock that we all know VERY well by now. So, if you are going solo, remember SESO (save early, save often)!
Also: Abdul states: "Usually, after 1+ minute it goes back to normal." So that might work for you, but hasn't yet for me Sad

Try hitting Ctrl-Enter/Alt-Enter multiple times. Usually the game gets back to normal after 10 or 20 seconds. Has worked for me with v. 1.12 as with earlier versions

I think it has someting to do with a.i. plotting strategy. (Like the old chess-games if you'd put them on advance they'd 'simulate a zillion moves' and select the best)

Perhaps you could try making a pot of coffee, (spending time without waiting) before exiting altogether.


I sometimes make the mistake of having a merc walk up to a 'conversation' (headminers) while having another going for some-building.
The conversation starts but gets interupted by the other merc who has to open a locked-door.
Trying to get the conversation going again doesn't work. Clock appears, ...won't go away -> Ctrl + X.
This happened right after I conquered a mine-sector and before saving. Sad
Now when I win a battle I press O, S then get to looting.

Yeah, I've been troubleshooting it and it also has a bug where two NPCs "spawn" in (sector traveled to attack) on top of each other and try to fire instead of move (mercs also screw it up when this happens) and it crashes it. I will keep working the percentages on these type of crashes, as they do not always occur, but are frequent. Thanks for the replies!
