Hi all,
I decided to make tile with 3 types of car for placing on the map. I made a 12 page .sti with the pictures and an .sti for the shadows. These are the original images from the game, but those cars weren't available in tilesets.

The tile contains 3 cars in 4 angles. The eldorado, jeep and humvee.

Everything was going fine till I tried to figure out how the .jsd files work ^^
At first I got the .jsd file made with "JSDBuild.exe"
...then I just copied some of the information from the original .jsd files for humvee and jeep.
I couldn't find any .jsd for eldorado so I tried to edit it with "JSDEDIT.exe"

I tried different values for the grids but I can't seem to figure it out, damn it... hehe
If anyone reading this has any experience with making .jsd's please help me out?

Here are the files.

If you look at the first page of the sti...
I tried to adjust the .jsd file so that a merc standing one one side of the car will see the enemy on the other side of the car deppending also on where he's standing beside the car. Let's say he's standing close to the front of the car. He should see the enemy on the other side when he's standing and crouching but not when he's prone. When the merc is standing closer to the center of the car he should see the enemy on the other side when he's standing but not when he's crouching...

I get weird results =(
Sometimes the merc that was placed near the center of the car could see the enemy when crouching/prone but not when standing, lolz...

Appart from the shape adjusting, which I think I understand, there is something I'm clearly missing here.
I'd appreciate if someone could explain this to me or try and fix the .jsd I linked

Thanks,
Mind

Not sure if this is related, but in Vanilla you get the effect that when you (or the enemy) go prone you can see a guy, but when you crouch or stand you don't see him. It feels like there is a slot along the floor sometimes where you can see through.

That would sort of make sense Dieter, meaning

1. When prone you would be able to look through under the car (the space between the wheels from underneath)

2. Vision is blocked if you are crouched (car body blocks your view)

3. Vision is blocked standing (car cabin blocks your view)

Admittedly 3 is contentious, as you would think you would be able to look through the glass areas of a vehicles cabin, I'm still getting to grips with a lot of this, but that's how I read it.

Back to your questions Mindnut, I am still trying to learn these values in JSD's, you may want to take a look at this other post if you haven't already which outlines some good stuff...

Which JSD Editor are you using, Mindnut?

Dieter sent me a link of this one which looks to be a lot more informative than the one I'd be using before (JSDEdit v1.05 by Black Dragon.)
