I have been playing jag so long it's forever apart of my life. I've played pretty much every mod, every version, etc. Back in the day when I used to see jag at gamestop I would always buy it even though I probably own ten copies. When I was 10 my older brother and I set up a network and played deadly games until our eyes hurt. I have easily beat jag 2 over a hundred times.
Trying to fill my need for more jag i also played plenty of silent storm. Silent storm was a decent game obviously, and way better than BIA.
I preordered BIA the second it came on amazon. If it was $500 I still would have pre-ordered it just because I want to support the franchise. Unfortunately, this is not a game that can be modded up to par. This isn't a game that has some saving points, this game is utter shit. It's like somebody played jag 2 once then tried to re-create it from memory using the programming skill level of a monkey. This game is what you get when you take your silent storm CD, crush it into shards then shove it into your cd rom drive.
First off, the QUEEN IS DEAD. WTF is this story line?? Is this an alternate universe where everything sucks?
WHY RE-DO the voices and say the exact same phrases??? If you are going to use the same characters with the sames names and say the same thing, why not use the audio from the last game?? WTF?
Who did the 3-d models for the characters? The local kindergarten class?
If this game came out 5 years ago, the graphics would have been outdated. Now, it's just pathetic.
Maybe i'm alone on this one but i have NEVER used steam. I realize they distribute jag 2 and so i am happy about that but me personally, never used it. So I buy this game (PHYSICALLY) and now I CAN'T play it without an internet connection? I got the physical game in the mail, but without a shitty online service and a key I Can't use my purchase. WOW. It's like they want to make it extra hard for me to access a game that I will now never play anyways.
When Jag 2 came out I remember just praying they put in multiplayer, and that it got good reviews so that it would become popular. I remember PC Gamer magazine loved the game and only complained about the multiplayer. I still think that if they just included multiplayer the game really would have taken off and the company wouldn't have fallen apart. So what do they do in BIA? Well exclude multiplayer of course! What kind of stupid jag fan would ever want to play multiplayer?
If I opened my BIA dvd case and a bomb went off, permanently disfiguring me, I would have liked the game more.
If the game immediately crashed my computer and caused me to lose all my family photos including the birth of my daughter, I would have liked it more.
I really am excited about the new content patches they are going to be releasing! One feature I would really like to see is the entire screen just being covered by a giant exit button. Another cool feature would be a patch that runs a batch file to erase steam from my computer.
In conclusion, I hope that all the people who made this game (Removed). Then I hope this game is shown on their gravestone so nobody will ever visit them. I have been drinking just a little, but who can blame me after trying to play this game the first/last time?

YakapoLet's look at the bright side. This game will not sell. As a result, the next time someone tries to make a similar game, they will stick with turn based gameplay.
Err, no.
They will keep it realtime and only remove the complicated and confusing nerd stuff like adding any attachment to weapons or having to deal with ammo.
More mass market appeal!

noone ever said this was JA2, that game is over 10 years old, this is an entirely new game that is trying to reboot the franchise, now, there are a few things i dont like about this, inventory and some of the voices/faces and the fact that it isnt anywhere as big as 1.13, but this game still has over 20 hours of content in it, sure, its not as amazing as we could have wanted, but in its own right its still a decent game, the new combat system is pretty fun and alot less frustrating than the one in JA2 (5 minutes of militia and enemy turns is gone, for the best) on a related note, this game can be modded better, just wait and see
