Using the June 2, 2014 SCI, I noticed the following oddity:

During turnbased mode, with the inventory open (~ key), the frame rate drops a lot. To be clear I mean the animation rate, it takes 5 times longer for a shot to cross the screen, the animation and movement are very slow. Closeing the inventory panel returns the game to normal. Could it have anything to do with an INI setting? Or is it a bug?

Using the June 2, 2014 SCI, a squad consisting of Ira and Miguel, calling in a group of militia, turn based mode starts, then after the 1st turn, goes to auto resolve. What could be causing this?

Hello,

Im coming back to game after a while and im really amazed by amount of changes.

I wanted to download newest pack but im pretty confused.

Those packages in this topic are marked as "Unstable" and "Beta" versions with users as testers.

Are there any "Stable" packages out there? Not most recent but stable and not marked as betas? I dont need a fancy one click installers i can handle more complicated ways of updating/installing.

I remember that you could update your v.1.13 to newest version using SVN server but its no longer availabile :/

Hey Depri, few issues with latest build; mainly that the disease subimages for Flugente's addon were left out.

Fixed in GameDir r2121, so it will be in the next SCI. Also, Depri can only include what has been committed first Wink

so I'm playin now on expert ver, 7535 and it's really hard...
my previous playtrough was with ver 7130 and I don't remember it being so hard..
i've set it to slow equipment progression and regular enemies with low quality guns are ridiculously accurate and are organizing amazingly fast... nearly every "interrupt" and "first turn" is theirs... not to mention when I finally take the sector they are back with reinforcements in less than a day...
did you make the game harder in latest versions?
Hell, I have problems even in mr claus's boxing ring...

Older versions of AIMNAS don't have food items, it would be wise to check which one you have.

The gear selection requires a relatively new exe. If your AIMNAS exe is older than that, the feature won't be there.

The AIMNAS subforum is where you can ask specific questions to that mod.

Greetings, I am new to unstable builds, and would like to ask a question. I downloaded the latest SCI release and installed it properly, yet when I go to configure settings such as Disease and Dynamic Dialogue in the INI Editor, I find that they are all display missing property value, and that I cannot modify them in any possible way. I cannot seem to find the new IMP gear selection thing either.

Well i would like to know, which one of the Depri builds is the most stable and have all the updated features? i have the latest one, the SCI 7679, but i feel that it lacks something, for example i'm not being able to transfer militia in the menu map. (that, or i just totally forgot how to play the game after months)

This looks like (relatively mild) case of mixing maps with incompatible tilesets. Check whether you followed the installation notes correctly and in the right order.

I Think its the "SCI_Unstable_Revision_7783_on_GameDir_2226".
I tried "JA2_113_FullRelease_English_7435" and everything is fine there.
My Installation order is JA2 + SCI.

Hi, please bare with me on this one:

I am trying to play JA2 on my iMac and was playing 1.13 stable just fine until lI realised some of the features are not in the stable build (generals, roof collapsing..).

So I did a fresh instal of my JA2 GOG version and extracted latest SCI (found on the first page here) installer over it, replacing some files.
When I try to run it, it I get this error:

Could not initialise library in file Data/Anims.slf SLF libs
Line: 286
src/core/vfs_init.cpp

Two screenshots attached of my original JA2 Data/ folder and folder of the latest SCI installed

Apparently original JA2 has all the files in .slf format and the SCI installer makes them into folders? Is this normal, or wrong? Please mind that I am doing this on Mac so everything is harder to do when it comes files and extension, as I am used to Windows OS but jus recently switched

JA2 GOG version starts and runs just fine on my Mac, so does the 1.13 version (7609 patch). I googled for this specific problem but could not find any working solution.

After extracting the SCI zip file of my instal folder, should I have files in Data/Anims as a folder or should the Anims file be in .slf file extension?

Here is a ful report on the crash

Not really sure, but I think it has something to do with OS X not being able to read files unpacked from .slf

JA2 native version starts and launches without a problem and it has all the /Data/ files packed in .SLF extension. Any way to overcome this? I just ran the exact same unstable SCI installation on Windows and it worked, so this has to be a Mac-OSX problem.

Any solutions would be welcome!

Hi Ninjaklan, welcome to the pit!

First of all, your screenshots aren't in your post, I believe they might be helpful.

The .slf files contain the original data, like sounds, tilesets etc.. Whenever we alter/add a resource, we add it to a folder containing the same name (like 'Sounds'). The exe then searches in several locations for a resource (Data-1.13, Data, and then the .slf files). This allows us to 'shadow' old files with newer ones.

From what you said, older versions of 1.13 work for you, which is odd, since remaining .slf files has not been changed. Did you perhaps install something in a wrong folder? (That's where the screenshots would be helpful). Anothe solution would be to extract the contents of each .slf, but that's kinda brutal (and requires the .slf explorer, which can be found on kermi's or Scheinworld's, and will likely not work on a mac).

I know now that it could never work between us, as much as we wanted to, it could never be! Not because you're a rabbit, but because you're black.

So just tried AIMNAS for the first time, and I saw a lot of cool stuff I liked, some I didn't like. But my question is - why hasn't the community at least transferred the new weapons from AIMNAS over to the unstable SCI ? No harm in that right? I know there is new "attachments" and the gun stats are designed for AIMNAS' big maps. But can we not revamp the weapons from AIMNAS to Unstable SCI? Be refreshing to add 1000+ guns.

curious why this hasn't happened already.

Stock 1.13 already has more than enough guns (and most of them are useless imho. What's the point of dozens of identical handguns, or dozens of identical AKs etc. etc.). We nowadays only add new guns to stock if they offer some new property existing guns don't have (the last new entry was a underbarrel shotgun).

I see what you are saying, but I feel like there is a total lack of stealth rifles in the game. Yes, I know you can get a silencer + cold ammo but later in the game, that combo turns into a peach shooter.

Also, as I was playing around with the Radio + artillery strike feature, wouldn't it be fun to be able to take control of a sam site and turn that into a missile base that radio operators can call on and use? happy

I was thinking that Sam Sites have a "facility" feature where someone can "man the rockets" and a radio operator can call missile attacks in.

Jumped from latest stable release to "SCI_Unstable_Revision_7953_on_GameDir_2267" on a fresh install.
Can't seem to be able to find starting cash settings for each difficulty anymore now and also the whole Strategic AI settings (grace periods, etc, just have 3 options in there now) seems to be missing in the INI file. Were some options moved somewhere else?

EDIT: No problem, just figured it out with some help they on xml in Tabledata dir now.

Is this the right place to submit bugs?

This is concerning SCI_Unstable_Revision_7953_on_GameDir_2267.

I got this after some inventory work in that sector:
http://puu.sh/jEEou/005bcc62d7.png

I checked my Temp folder, it had these:
http://puu.sh/jEQ8p/d78b5f793f.png

When I pressed Esc JA2 closed, but my PC froze, I reset it 10 minutes later.

Tried to recreate it from last save, twice, but it didn't happen again.
