As far as I know, it's compatible with every revision there is.

The 4.47 should work with any EXE after 6232. However, as the recent version is based on 6323 EXE and 1704 game revision, it will not have some changes incorporated that were implemented after this, at least not without some tweaking. If you want to be on the safe side, use 6323/1704 SCI from Depri's build along with AFS.

AFS v4.48 preview in next few days... bug hunt while v4.48 is being integrated with other two mods.

EDIT: it will be up to current SCI

EDIT2: AFS v4.48 will also reintroduce some of the the Vendor specific enemy gun selections (and if I hurry other item selection).

I realized that a lot of values in APBPConstants.ini are missing, sometimes an entire sections. Is this intentional? Also, while I think that AP for aiming clicks modifications are intentional is AP_STEAL_ITEM = 56 instead of 32 intentional as well? And also, why does BP_PICKLOCK, BP_EXAMINE_DOOR and BP_EXPLODE_DOOR have a value of -250?

While we're at it, I also noticed a lot of changes in the MercProfiles.xml - are they intentional as well?

No, it just means I haven't updated the INI to keep pace with v1.13. Same thing is probably giving the impression that there have been edits in MercProfiles.XML. I usually import files like those when possible instead of editing in changes.

Are there any AFS edits in MercProfiles.XML at all? Also, do you have to keep a copy of XML files if you don't plan on changing them? Data-1.13 folder is included in VFS, so won't the missing XMLs get pulled from there?

I think you could put Bobby ray Quality setting in the beginning of the game to Awesome(10) and see all weapons, but It will reduce fun. Of course some weapons like rocketrifles will not be available. It is intentional, however you can edit weapon availability through XML files.

I do not understand how to configure what weapons the enemy has. Changing EnemyGunChoices.xml in the tabledata/inventory does not have any affect. Can someone please help?

Check if SOLDIERCLASS_SPECIFIC_ITEM_TABLES is set to TRUE in Ja2_Options.INI. In this case/if you want that you have to edit all GunChoices_Enemy/Militia_xyz, else set to FALSE

This issue was finally fixed in 6237. Unfortunately savegame will probably have some invalid data regarding inventory. This can only be fixed by starting a new game.

For your own personal game you may do as you want with those stats. I've intentionally set town militia costs to 0 in AFS (and they should be 0 in UC-1.13 and DL-1.13 as well).

It looks like my cunning plan of procrastinating in my last Civilization 5 game (tried to build the space ship after winning the time victory) seems to have benefited Arulco Folding Stock v4.48 - I've added the new Backgrounds feature. This however is going to slow down work on UC-1.13 and DL-1.13 as I need to add in the new tag one merc at a time. Additionally, I'm seeing a lot of discussion that may result in some changes so I may simply wait for the backgrounds to stabilize before proceeding with this work. AFS v4.48 can simply be updated by copying entire files from v1.13 as needed.

In the meantime, here is the Release Candidate for Arulco Folding Stock v4.48. Requires/tested last on SCI_Unstable_Revision_6358_on_GameDir_1753 Enjoy the bug hunt.

It's a small issue, but I found that Ja2.ini file (in 4.48 RC) does not consist an entry for vanilla UB, based on the latest ini file. I'm also proposing to keep AFS a separate entry rather than replace the 1.13. Also, why not add the remaining VFS's to the list?

Also, I know that most systems won't have problem with spaces and "&" and "." signs in the VFS file names, but for the safe side, maybe it's worth replacing spaces and dot with underscore and removing or renaming to "and" the "&" sign?

Anyway, here's the changed ini (without the file name changes): Ja2.ini

  • There's a hidden .svn folder in \Data-Graphics\BIGITEMS - I think it's not intentional, is it?

  • I've also found a redundant versions of PocketPopups.xml and Pockets.xml in the "Inventory" folder.

  • in Sounds.xml line 220 it says "Armour" while SVN says "Armor"
  • SoundsProfiles.xml seems not to be updated as well
  • Ja2_Settings.INI have different default values than the SVN one (which may be intentional). Formatting is a bit different though (tabs amount in changed options) and there is one "uiMeanwhileScenesSeenFlags" flag set
  • There's a bunch of changes in Ja2_Options.INI - some of them are outdated comments and such
  • There's also some inconsistencies in formatting or lack of comments in some XMLs, but there's a lot of them, and I guess that's too much of nitpicking - plus that's only an issue when comparing files.

My ammo boxes predate the actual ammo box feature, and are actually ammo crates. Originally they were 250 in size due to game limits at the time. I think I've gone over this before - I don't want to be splicing in hundreds of new ammo box items, editing the exiting ones to be simple ammo crates, and repeat across three mods.

What? I'm gussing "vanilla UB" is Unfinished Business, therefore why is this important to AFS which does not support Unfinished Business (v1.13 or otherwise)?

Having issues with the XML editor and editing IMP items; it seems like some of the base items have missing graphics, with the Medic Vest (Fox), Tool Vest (Barry), and Hunting(?) Vest (Hitman) missing graphics, for starters.

The Commando LBEs are not correct, they should be the same as how it is in UC113 and not mimicking other LBEs.

2nd magazines give infinite ammo or fail to work.

Commando LBEs are still incorrect, however. Its fine, I can work around it; the other ones have plenty good offerings anyway.

Just a reminder, there is a Release Candidate for AFS v4.48 that includes fixes for things mentioned in the last few posts.

Recent Fixes/Changes/Updates (not in RC1):
- fixed Commando LBE - LMG incorrect flag: Belt Feed instead of Belt LBE
- Updated discriptions for both Shovels:
- - 1315 (Knife), "Perfect for digging your own grave, or taking off someone else's head (and then dig their grave)."
- - 1543 (Misc), "Perfect for digging a grave or filling sandbags."
- Dead Body:
- - updated graphic to new one from v1.13
- - fixed it was not two handed
