Hallo,

First thing first, I'll apologize if this has been answered before but I havent found said answer.

Now, since thats out of the way ... to my problem :

I have 2 monitors and I usually multitask, sometimes one of those tasks is booring so i tend to play something in the meantime. At some point, I kinda wanted to play Ja2 1.13 while I do the other thing, only to realise that it doesnt really work. If I launch Ja2 the other monitor freezes up and nothing happens there (if im watching a movie, thats a big problem).
How can I avoid that?

First thing I tried was setting Ja2 in windowed only to find out that it doesnt work and it says to set my color depth to 16bpp which I do not know how to do it.

What I want is to run Ja2 on one monitor while watching a movie on the other without the movie monitor freezing ...

Halp?

Thanks.

Setting depth to 16bpp requires you to set that on the monitor setting in the advanced options of your resolution settings. On win7, which I for no reason at all assume you are using.

Ok, I have some more problems with this.

Now, I have a wide screen monitor, setting ja2 in windowed mode makes the game end up in a small window (i believe of 1024x768 resolution) which makes it hard to play the game on my monitor.
Any way around it? You know, making the window larger or something?

In the ini where you can set windowed mode... you can also set resolution there.

Yeah I know, this is how it looks here:

; Select the screen resolution of the game.
; 0 ... 640x480
; 1 ... 800x600
; 2 ... 1024x768
;********************************************************************************************

SCREEN_RESOLUTION = 2

From where I'm sitting, I cant set it higher than 1024x768 or am I missing something?

Here's a feature that's missing:

Run game in windowed mode at 800x600, but have it scale upward to a higher resolution. This is not a issue in fullscreen mode since the video drivers or monitor take care of this automatically. However, in windowed mode it would be nice to play at a low resolution game-wise, but have it scaled larger in the window itself. E.g. the game resolution is 800x600 but the window size is 1600x1200 or whatever. Do you understand?

Or maybe there is a third party utility that will do this?

Yes, I've thought of that myself, using some beta/more recent versions of the mod but sadly, I'm playing on an older aimnas version of the mod and it causes some issues with the more recent 1.13, mainly the unstable versions.

This would be nice indeed. Atm its obviously impossible since windows doesnt recognises the borders of the game window if you know what i mean so you cant scale the game window manually.

I've tried a software made for another game by some random dude over the web that should in theory make most games play in a bordless window (its like having a full screen game but windowed) and while that piece of software works for most games out there, Ja2 aint one of them.
