As I always had the intention to sell my items for the best bang for the buck I can without resorting to selling items with alt-click, and with the variety of a dealers in Arulco and complexity on how they set their prices, even with the recent externalization of merchant inventory I had to look at the code to see the exact calculations. I finally found the part of the code that is responsible for it and after studying it, decided to post the results here, for those that don

If the item is present in TonyInventory.xml, they will only pay 1/2 of the price

... leads to:
1. Always sell guns, ammo, grenades and gun attachments to Tony. In other words, everything basically accepted by Tony should be sold to nobody else but Tony.

If I remember correctly Jake only accepted damaged items in the past so you couldn't sell him anything that is at 100% status. Looks like this functionality has been removed.
