Is there any way for me to get my hands on "Improved shot distribution inside the aperture" thingy? However I do not want a ready exe, I compile my own exe's due to music fix/mod I found on this forum.
I would like to test Improved shot distribution inside the aperture with my own INI modifications that double sight and gun range. On WF maps the battles are much more tense and less of knife fights. However having my best sniper with SVD constantly miss is kind of disappointing. That is why I would like to test this module.

@rummtata
It depends on what you want
Current situation:
There are 3 possible ways of making custom images:
1. Combining images
You just make several pictures with combinations of attachments.
It's rather simple and straightforward, and there are available pictures with such combinations for vanilla items (made for ja2'005 mod).
So the simple task is just mapping those items to ja2 stock items, finding pics in BIGITEMS folder and renaming them.
The serious drawback of this method is that it's not scalable - if you want 10 different attachments, you will need to make 1024 pictures with all combinations =)
This method is fully implemented now
2. Overlaying images
This method was used for above demonstrations (HK53, AK, Shotgun).
It uses prepared pictures with only one attachment + base picture, so it allows unlimited number of possible attachments.
The drawback of this method is that it's time consuming and you will need a good knowledge of specialized software, palette editing and other tricky things.
This method is also mostly implemented and showed very good results, but I don't see it as a base for serious modding because of mentioned time consuming things and other inconveniences
3. Mapping images
This method is a bit more complicated for coding, and will require more preparation, but after it is done it will be much faster and easier to make custom images even for unskilled player/modder.
I hope it will be completed in several weeks maybe. Currently it's no more than a good idea (and plan).
Conclusion
So, if you want a rather quick result, you can spend some time porting mentioned existing images to stock 1.13, so it will be a base for further improvement and it will be playable almost immediately.
One problem is that you will not see big custom images if you don't have widescreen monitor (except for the attachments screen and magnified sector inventory).
I will make an improved interface for regular (square) resolutions, but, again, it will take some time.
Also, small images are not customized currently, and I doubt they should be, because even in 1024x768 they already look more like small icons.

Didn't quite get this one. Would you have several layers on the image?

I need to some more testing on sniper with my range tweaks, so do not worry about that.
That reminds me: we as community need some kind of testing map with targets at set ranges, stuff to test buying and "magic boxes" that will contain any and every item from the set category.
Anyway? How do I patch?
EDIT: I choose "apply" patch, then directed SVn to the folder I have exe source, then I selected patch all the items. Is this enough?

TaroAnyway? How do I patch?
Right click on the patch file (select Apply Patch) and then select your source dir.

The videos & pics look very promising! Would it be possible to select the quick-items with the mouse as well (mouse-regions), or is it a visual feature? Or perhaps in a later stage, don't know...
