This begins the "new maps section" of the Arulco Vacations forum. I will put notice of all newly modified/created maps here. You can also report any problems you encounter with AV maps here.

The first new map for v1.03 is Sector F9 -- the Arulco National University Ruins. If you have not visited Sector F9 in your current game yet then you can add this map without problems.

If you have visited that sector then to have a trouble-free install you must remove all items from that sector before installing this new map. You can, of course, simply sell everything off as an alternative to moving items.

The new F9 map is available for download from the Downloads page of the Arulco Vacations Blog. Scroll down past the J9 Map Patch and you will find it there.

Enjoy!

Edit: Oh, you can take a look at a portion of the modified map on the Cartography page of the Blog.

Another new map -- Sector E8 Abandoned Farm Ruins.

There is a little story behind this next map. It is Sector E8, and I used the default v1.13 map as a base. Somehow, somewhen ago while creating Facility Types I saw in Sector E8 an entire bombed out village. Now, there's only a single abandoned barn and a single ruined building in that sector. Perhaps I was dreaming, or perhaps I was looking at a map of a mod that I don't have at the moment -- because I looked through all the E8 maps of all the mods I have on my hard drive and . . . well . . . none of them even have a modified E8! Well, now Arulco Vacations has a little abandoned village there. OK, more of an abandoned extended-family farm, actually. I did my usual major landscaping thing, and, of course, added some buildings, and because the tileset had sandbags (!) I gave the hint by setting up a little defensive position by the barn. It is actually kind of an eerie place when you look at it and realize there are no civilians. Now, you can imagine the Queen came through and had these people slaughtered because they were rebels. And the sandbagged position is where they stood their ground. Or, you can imagine the Queen's patrols stop here for the night on occasion and set themselves up a little protected spot. Either way, or both, enjoy!

If you have not visited Sector E8 yet then you can add this map to your current game without problems. If you have visited Sector E8 then to add this map without having problems you must move all items out of Sector E8 before applying this new map to your game.

To install this new E8 map simply extract the files to your main game folder. The archive will put one (1) file each into your

../Profiles/UserProfile_JA2113/RadarMaps

and your

../Profiles/UserProfile_JA2113/Maps folders

The new E8 map is available for download from the Downloads page of the Arulco Vacations Blog. Scroll down you will find it near the bottom of the page.

You can take a look at a portion of the modified map on the Cartography Page of the Blog.

Enjoy!

I modified the map of Sector C13 - Central Drassen. Arulco was missing shanties so the most logical place for shanties to appear because of the extreme poverty the Queen's regime is imposing upon the population would be central Drassen. There we have the bombed-out public airport, and the factory using child slave labour. There was always the question of where did all those children live -- and even with the additional buildings I added previously to this map there were not enough homes for them all. Now there are, as we can imagine the child workers live in these shanties.

If you have not visited Sector C13 yet then you can add this map to your current game without problems. If you have visited Sector C13 then to add this map without having problems you must move all items out of Sector C13 before applying this new map to your game.

To install this new C13 map simply extract the files to your main game folder. The archive will put one (1) file each into your

../Profiles/UserProfile_JA2113/RadarMaps

and your

../Profiles/UserProfile_JA2113/Maps folders

The new C13 map is available for download from the Downloads page of the Arulco Vacations Blog. Scroll down you will find it near the bottom of the page.

I modified the map of Sector F10 - the Hick Family Compound. As usual, I added a few more buildings so everyone could be properly housed, enlarged existing buildings, and re-worked the landscape This time I also outfitted the Hick Family with a new assortment of weaponry, and increased their stash, as well.

I modified the map of Sector B14 - the Lake Sector east of Drassen Airport. I did major work on the waterscape, and my usual modifications of the landscape and buildings. I did not add or enlarge any buildings this time, just jazzed them up a bit more so they actually look lived in. I removed most of the deep water, replacing it with shallow water and reeds to enable more of the map to be playable.

If you have not visited Sector B14 yet then you can add this map to your current game without problems. If you have visited Sector B14 then to add this map without having problems you must move all items out of Sector B14 before applying this new map to your game.

Sector Maps C14 & D14 are finished and ready for download. Continue scrolling down to the bottom of the Downloads Page and you will find the links for them. They are the Lake Sectors east of Middle Drassen & Drassen Mine. As with B14, I did major work on the landscapes and the waterscapes. There were no buildings or inhabitants of these Sectors originally, but I did add an old, abandoned shack to D14. As with B14 I more than doubled the land area and removed most of the deep water, replacing it with shallow water, on both maps. The shallow water has different aspects to it on both maps than B14 -- giving the Player yet other different tactical situations to game in. These new maps are available on the Downloads Page of the Blog.

If you have not visited Sector C14 or D14 yet then you can add these maps to your current game without problems. If you have visited one of the Sectors then to add these maps without having problems you must move all items out of the visited Sector before applying this new map to your game.

To install these new maps simply extract the files to your main game folder. There are two (2) archives, one for each map, and each archive will put one (1) file each into your

../Profiles/UserProfile_JA2113/RadarMaps

and your

../Profiles/UserProfile_JA2113/Maps folders

The new C14 & D14 maps are available for download from the Downloads page of the Arulco Vacations Blog. Scroll down you will find them near the bottom of the page.

Just an info update to let everyone know work proceeds on Arulco Vacations: I'm almost done modifying all the Skyrider Hideout maps. They are all fully compatible with v1.13 so can be used in any mod that is fully compatible with v1.13, or in v1.13 itself. The landscapes and waterscapes are greatly modified to be believable terrain where Skyrider can hide from all prying eyes. There is a cabin on all four maps -- abandoned if Skyrider is not hiding there. The thought here is that the abandoned cabins belonged to people who fell victim to the Queen's murderous repression, and also that Skyrider doesn't build himself a cabin -- but inhabits and fixes up an already existing abandoned cabin. I am putting the finishing touches on the last map but work proceeds slowly at the moment because of real life priorities.

These maps look pretty nice... Are they all compatible with BigMaps/AIMNAS? Are they "big" maps or vanilla size?

I finally finished the Skyrider Hideout Maps for Arulco Vacations. These maps should work with any mod fully compatible with v1.13 r7435b7609 (aka the 2014 Stable Release).

If you have not visited Sectors B15, C16, D12 and E14 yet then you can add these maps to your current game without problems. If you have visited one of the Sectors then to add these maps without having problems you must move all items out of the visited Sector before applying this new map to your game.

To install these new maps simply extract the files to your main game folder. This will put 8 files (4 sectors with alternate maps) each into your

../Profiles/UserProfile_JA2113/RadarMaps

and your

../Profiles/UserProfile_JA2113/Maps folders

The new Skyrider Hideout Maps are available for download from the Downloads page of the Arulco Vacations Blog. Scroll down you will find them near the bottom of the page.

Gorro der Grüne pointed out to me that I was missing Ownership tags at the Hicks Family Compound (Sector F10). Consequently, the Player could steal the stockpiled weapons with impunity. This revised map fixes that problem. Thanks, Gorro!

The new map is available on the Arulco Vacations Downloads page.

Oops! I had forgotten to map out the room numbers so that the roofs would disappear when you entered the rooms. My apologies. Please download v2 of these maps, available now on the Arulco Vacations blog Download Page. Thanks to Gorro der Grüne for pointing that out to me.

Edit: This particular problem fixed for v1.04, no download necessary.

The Grumm Maps add-on for Arulco Vacations

This Add-on includes Sectors G1, G2, H1, H2 & H3 -- all five (5) Sectors of the town of Grumm: the four (4) town proper Sectors and the Mine Sector. Grumm has been made to be more of the military industrial center of Arulco that it is supposed to be. There are now three munitions warehouses in Grumm, a military barracks, more residents, more buildings and an enhanced Mining operation. If you've ever asked yourself where the queen stores her munitions . . . this is part of the new Arulco Vacations answer. v1.04 ties the gun smugglers to Tony so their weapon caches are not a source of re-supply for your mercs anymore if you want to stay on the good side of Tony. This version of Grumm balances that out. There is enough here to keep your mercs coming back for more! The Grumm Maps Add-on is available on the Downloads page of the Arulco Vacations blog.

Drassen Update & Pablo Fix for Arulco Vacations (v1.04c)

This update fixes the problem of Pablo wandering off-map. It also updates all the civilians (except children and wheelchair-bound ones) of Drassen to regular body-types (somehow I had overlooked some civilians) so as to prevent crashing the game if they become zombies. As well, all three maps got tweaked and enhanced -- I just cannot re-visit a map without tweaking it some more. This update includes Sectors B13, C13 & D13. If you haven't visited Drassen in your current game then you can add these maps without problem. If you have visited Drassen then it is advisable to remove all items from the visited maps before applying this add-on. To install, simply extract the files into your main game folder, overwriting all files. The Drassen Update & Pablo Fix is available on the Downloads page of the Arulco Vacations blog.

Chitzena Update

This update addresses a concern expressed by a Player regarding the defendability of Chitzena against the Queen's massive counter-attack. The update also tweaks Chitzena in other areas, as well. No more flat roofs were added (as requested) because I consider that does not fit the character of the region, and would break the 'ambiance and charm' of Chitzena. However, many more archaeological ruins were added to increase the options for types of combat besides long-range snipers on roofs. Your close-combat specialists will thrive in this updated Chitzena environment. The ruins also add more role-playing flavour to Chitzena -- and is in line with a future update I have regarding an Indigenous Faction. The new ruins also emphasize the rationality of Yanni's oath to remain in Chitzena for the rest of his life. Sectors A2 & B2 are included in this update. As usual, if you haven't visited Chitzena in your current game then you can add these maps without problem. If you have visited Chitzena then it is advisable to remove all items from the visited maps before applying this add-on. To install, simply extract the files into your main game folder, overwriting all files. This Chitzena Update is available on the Downloads page of the Arulco Vacations blog.

You used the tileset for the ruins in ways I never thought possible, great stuff!
Not really crazy about your other maps, but I hope you will further revise these 2 maps of Chitzena, in order to bring some more harmony.
