Could it be it's that specific area of the map ? I think that i gave him another chance in another area and crashed it again, everyone died.I couldn't figure out why was this happening. Ok, he's not ace pilot but he IS a pilot nevertheless. Doesn't make much sense to be unable to fly safely over allied airspace. Anyways, Skyrider flies fine over green airspace so i'm happy happy

@Gopas, @Hawkeye Hey, fixed flyboy trait, there was a missing condition in the code causing each damage to instantly down the heli instead of allowing for 3 hits.

Expected behaviour is:
- on each sector reached pilots with flyboy trait (Jerry) have chance to damage the heli, accompanied by pilot quote and message in the log
- accident chance can be modified/lowered manually in \Data-Vengeance\Skills_Settings.INI as FLYBOY_ACCIDENT_CHANCE, it's 10% by default (for comparison SAM hit chance in red sectors is 33% for ace pilots and 50% for Jerry)
- heli can be damaged 3 times before crashing (same as with receiving SAM hit)
- on the second damage received, pilot will automatically try to fly back to the airport
- received damage can be repaired by Waldo if he's alive, requiring time and money, prompt will trigger when you land at the airport, if you skip the prompt you can also just talk to Waldo directly and he will offer repairs again (1.13 feature)

- in addition there's 33% per sector that pilot will instantly crash if they're currently seriously drunk, but this is easily preventable by just keeping them sober

As for crash happening every single time on the same route, that's because chances of damage are using "pre-randomized" numbers, meaning all random checks will have the same outcome after reloading the game. Same can be observed after reloading the game during battle and taking the exact same shots. This is anti-save scum feature from vanilla JA, though it can be fooled by e.g. triggering additional actions before or changing their order, so it's not always obvious.

Hope that makes Jerry slightly more viable as a pilot. He's already a joke character cheeky

Hey guys, since updating to the latest version I seem to be experiencing a very strange visual behavior. The screen is basically flashing non stop as the game reaches the main menu, and in-game also. Tried compatibility mode, disabling V-Sync and a few other DPI scaling tricks, nothing works. You can still see what is going on but it looks like the refresh rate is wrong, or there are 2 frames being rendered on top of each other. Anyone else had this problem? not sure

Graphics driver are latest (Nvidia), running on RTX 2080 super, ingame resolution should be 1024x768, though i see there is also a custom resolution in the INI editor at 800x600. The whole thing is upscaled on my big ass screen, but this was never the issue, as I've played older versions without any issues same hardware setup. Upgrading the game to the latest version seemed to create this problem as far as I see.

For reference I also have 1.13 with NCTH/Smeagol mod and that works just fine, also updated to latest, so I haven't figured out what's special about the latest VR patch tbh.

I had this problem once when I set forced vsync in nvidia panel if I remember correctly.

Hi guys,
I installed the mod yesterday and have been really enjoying it. Thanks very much for all the time and effort that's been put into it happy

I just fought my way to Drassen and began assaulting the airport, but now whenever the AI gets to a certain point in their turn, I get an infinitely spinning stopwatch. I've tried going back as far as possible with my saves and it doesn't seem to matter which grid number I encounter enemies in, this always happens.
Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

I was getting pretty bad stopwatches due to the enemy backpack issue that was just fixed recently. VR's had a lot of updates of late hopefully we can get a new build out there soon. Would the latest exe fix things, Seven on it's own for now?

Has anyone else had issues with the game crashing using Alt keys. I know a few have mentioned this phenomena in 1.13, and though I don't use many I have noticed both Alt plus Printscreen or just Printscreen on it's own will crash Vengeance: Reloaded, which makes it hard to get a screen grab of some other issues, notably I'm throwing items out of windows but the glass isn't breaking?

I have seen this problem on video letsplays - I think you need to step back one tile from the window for the item to break the glass reliably.

I am having the same issue with latest SCI download. I cannot build sandbags in Drassen mine. Version says it is 1.13.7609 20.01.18

Edit: I needed to put the shovel in build mode. I can build sandbags in Drassen Mine, but mercs can walk right through them after they are placed as if they are ghost images. The sand bags I construct in the Drassen Airfield sector are solid, unlike the ones constructed in the mine sector. There seems to be an issue with the tile set for the mine.

I do have the same problem with the 1.13.7609+ BUILD 20.09.29. Also, where do one get (emty?) sandbags, do you need to buy them?

Try copying the file "sandbag.jsd" from Tileset 17 (Drassen Airport) to Tileset 23 (Drassen Mine) (in Data-maps-tiles/tilesets). If this ain't solve it, go back to a save before you ever entered the map of Drassen Mine, so that when you first enter this map, the map will then load with the copied jsd included.
Might be allready fixed in more recent VR versions.

Sector M1: Malino Oil Rig.

I have my mercs inside the control room with the switch that detonates explosive charges in rig and the enemy can see and shoot through the walls of the control room. I suspect this may have to do with the security camera that I assume allows the enemy to see into the room. Evidently the game interprets this as the targets inside the control room are exposed to weapon fire originating outside the control room.

BTW - I am really enjoying the mod and appreciate all the hard work that has into it. The post JA2 setting works very well. A big thank you to all involved in this project.

i tried to change some merc's default shirt colour from black to yellow in mercprofiles, and it had no effect, colour doesn't changes, why is it so??

You need to start new game, and change colors in the right folder.
Also I think VR has a tweaked non-standard palette, so it may be the cause also.

The game locks up when I bring Maria to Angel in San Mona. He gives me the leather jacket and when I close the dialog window I get the eternal stop watch. Updated to latest version.

EDIT: well, strangely enough after posting this bug it has disappeared. Although I tried several times before. Now Angel gives me the jacket, the dialog closes and he walks off automatically. However Maria is still in my team. I guess it can't hurt to have a sex slave as company.

Two questions:
-SKS PU: So I just picked one up off an enemy and noticed that it just gives +1 to accuracy and -1 to reading but I don't see any magnification. Is the weapon supposed to have some sort of magnification?

-Radio: Is the radio supposed to turn off after every battle? I've noticed I have to keep enabling the jam communications function.

I'll take a look. It would make sense that the PU provides some magnification, though will have to check that doesn't remain should you remove the scope when merging with other items.

The Radio hasn't been touched as far as I know from Flugente's original feature in 1.13 but it's also a feature I don't use much. I'd maybe check his posts first in the Workshop.

I have noticed that there is a notification after battles end saying that the radio was shut off. I'm curious if its a new function?

Also, I just realized that AI turns aren't fast forwarding. I have the option checked and I've made sure the vengenance ini file has the correct settings. It might be a good idea to check this out.

I am not sure if this counts as a bug but i'll mention it just in case. I am doing the sector where the sergeant, the general and Conrad are hanging out. As soon as i've killed the first enemy at the gate to the south,to the far north there is an explosion, it's the sergeant and he gets wounded. When i finally get to him - unlike vanilla - he is wounded but not bleeding out. However, once i spare him he walks to where the locker with the special rifle is supposed to be, only there is no locker since the whole wall has been destroyed with the explosion, resulting in the endless stopwatch. I know about the locker from my previous playthrough. I didn't do a hard save when i entered the sector so now i cannot restart my raid. it's ok, i never use those rifles anyway

This has been bothering me since vanilla. Why can't he just sit quietly, waiting for the allies to arrive, instead of playing with explosives ? Why does he have to explode his ass off and destroy walls and lockers ?? Or, you could move the locker to another room, a bit down some corridor, away from the point of the explosion. That would simlify things.

I might be mistaken, but a long time ago, I thought they got rid of all the bright colours, at least on mercs so people like Static and Fox had more muted colours, even the redshirts are less bright. Unless this was something the original Vengeance did, it's something the Vengeance:Reloaded dev team never changed as far as I recall.

I don't think this is Krott playing with explosives, this is intended as the weapons stored there are booby trapped, if an alarm is tripped the weapons room gets destroyed. It's a very similar game mechanic to Vanilla, if a bit of a basic one and suggests you should proceed with newer armed sectors with caution and stealth. You shouldn't be getting an endless stopwatch however, try to see if you can Esc out of it, or if you have a save send it to me.
