I made a clean reinstall with the last download version available and it still didn't work. I restart the 11th day in the morning and CTD as usual the 11th day at noon. I used your new .exe and the others 3 map files.

picking more than 4 traits (in short >4 lines in skills) causes crashes, is it intentional to prevent cheating? because there is no such problem in 1.13 at least in 8796 build

We couldn't replicate your crash. Though Vengeance:Reloaded is based on 7609 multiple traits are possible as below.

I get lots of flickering between the game and desktop when I'm in menus, laptop, and strategic view. It doesn't happen all the time but just when I move my mouse over specific parts of the screen.

I'm running Windows 10 on a laptop that uses integrated graphics. I followed the included instructions about the win10 fix and I've got these issues.

Anyone have any tips?

I don't know if this will help but I find a common culprit is making sure 'Merc lights during movement' is turned off in your game settings. The ini's were edited somewhat so make sure that one's off again. I can't comment too much on the Windows 10 side of things but heard the game is virtually unplayable without those fixes mentioned in the other thread.

thx for the lastest version, started playing it and getting various crashes ... most frequent one is a runtime error when trying to throw a knife:

"could not load tile file: TILECACHE\KNIFING.STI"

guess I'll have to look around and move some files (?)

TILECACHE\KNIFING.STI is part of the original JA2 installation, not V:R so I'd be checking your initial Vanilla files first, namely \GameData\main\Data\TILECACHE it should be a 4kb sti animation.

Hi guys,

in the latest beta the game hangs when attempts to quench the thirst of the mercs automatically and autosave at the same time. The food system is on (really like that feature thumbs up ) and happens after leaving Omerta. It happened in Drassen, but also once when I headed west to San Mona. Did anyone experience it? Have a save file for troubleshooting.

A great mod and work!

not sure how I managed to do it, but in my recent game I probably did something so now all NPCs (doesn't matter if they are "allies" or "foes") have no gear

so for instance when I recruit them they are "naked", or when I fight them they just wanna fist fight or run for the gear on the ground

two questions: 1. where did I "delete" their things? 2. is it possible that if I put "stuff" back it will mess up my current game?

I know it's kind of a stupid thing, but I'm really not sure I saved anything empty

I was trying to find IMP starting gear cause I love the loner adventures with trillions of attempts, but I didn't, in my recollection, mess anything with other guys

I had a previous install version of vengeance (had setup my IMP with notepad editing starting gears), now I'm on the great reset

Hardly the right place to post if you are messing with files.

Hard to tell what you've done going by that info but if NPC's have no inventory I'd be looking at the MercStartingGear.xml in GameData\main\Data-AIMv53\TableData\Inventory. Hopefully you didn't use the Xml editor either, as that is known to corrupt files.

Sorry, but it was what you said, unfortunately it is a little too late to reorganize stuff now, but at least I can explore the game, hopefully I didn't mess up some stuff with this

anyways, first time I managed to do the middle city, now in need of defense

one thing I noticed, and hopefully you can explain why it occurs

some items (guns, armor) have stats like 92/97%, while other of same type have just plain old %. I understand that the first ones have limiters in the second number, while the second ones can be repaired up to 100%. Is there a reason why this happens? do guns "change" types if something happens?

also, is Perko far better as a normal merc then as a general repairman, since he only has "limited" working hours + gets "fuckups", while as a merc I can pretty much (ab)use his whenever I need

I must congratulate you, middle city was interesting, will try to explore some more of the map that I didn't do a year or two ago, at my first playthrough I liberated the north of the country, but then stopped playing, and since there was new update of the mod there was no point in continuing

Sorry to hear that, if it is indeed an issue caused by the XML editor, I wouldn't be confident that you face more issues. But it depends on what you edited and what the editor may have corrupted.

Some items have a lower total repair value, so an item such as the 92/97% percent gun can only be fully repaired to 97% status. I'm not entirely sure why other items have the more vanilla value, as I've seen myself some items just have a fixed value, even low values of 70% that can't be repaired further. Perhaps this was items that were defined in the map editor and created at a time before the new repair system was introduced.

Perko is part of the PCM (Player Character Mod) which means you can hire him like a number of previously NPCs. He may be a good hire for repairing skills during more early stages of the game but may not be such a good fighter. It's always a gamble on recruiting such a character as you still have to pay him a wage and he may take up a much sought after slot on your roster as you progress, though of course you can always fire him if need be. I've never hired him personally, though did hire TNT, which wasn't entirely the best recruit and I lost the ablility to purchased explosives from him which I could have done with in earlier stages of the game and he seems a bit of a bullet magnet in my playthrough.

Either create an IMP with the Technician/Engineer trait, along with Marksman, so he's a good shot, or hire Perko, Maddog or Dynamo, one of them to repair items at your base sector. Personally, i am playing with Advanced Repairs on, so it's inconvenient to travel my teams back to where the one who can repair above 95%, resides. Considering that at 92% condition, the guns start jamming, unless you can have all mercs trained to high engineering, 70 or higher. Back in vanilla, the condition had to drop down to 70% or less before jamming, engineering skill didn't matter.So, i prefer to have at least one Technician per squad, so they can have repairs to a 100%, no matter where they are. A Tech, a medic and a bombardier are a must in any team. I am not fond of sacrificing a slot to have a full Engineer at the base sector for just repairing.

Do you change anything related to militia autoresolve bonus?I add some bonuses to militia so they survive more than usual and still they die very fast and a lot.If comparing to simple mod 1.13 if i made such modifications in ja2_option.ini my militia became stronger and not die too much during defensive autoresolve battles.At least in Vengeance this bonuses seems not work for mobile militia.not tested on town militia yet.Also change Autorsolve luck factor to 1.0 or to 10.0 from 2.0 also not change anything for militia,but in 1.13 it has differences.

I'm pretty much done with this run, only for something really crazy to happen before i can roll up on the final sector in Burton.
All of the sudden a group of at least 300 elite enemies spawn inside the final sector and begin to sweep the rest of the town.
Is this something that is supposed to happen, or just some weird bug?
I've tried it with autoresolve factor but both my mercs and militias have zero chances to fight back, even resulting in game crashes if i try.

I've got this save a few mins before the onslaught starts.
I'm playing it on Version 1.13.7609+ (The Great Reset) Build 21.12.18
It starts off as ~64 Enemies that enter a liberated sector, then suddenly another few hundreds appear out of nowhere.

Usually before i start a new game i tend to tinker with the .ini settings, but nothing that should lead to extreme enemy spawns like these. At least i think it shouldn't.

It seems this is actually a thing;

That can happen
Check the description of MAX_STRATEGIC_ENEMY_GROUP_SIZE
"Please note that if reinforcements are allowed (ALLOW_REINFORCEMENTS=TRUE), several such groups can combine together for an attack. However, they will split up at the first opportunity, trying to return to no more than this size."

So what happens is that 64 guys attack the sector, and all the guys from other adjacent sectors join in. If you had any mercs there they would spawn in groups, limited by MAX_NUMBER_ENEMIES_IN_TACTICAL at once, but because there's only militia there it enters autoresolve so all pariticipants are considered at once. Either turn off ALLOW_REINFORCEMENTS or get controllable mercs there before the battle starts.

Not sure if bug or not but the AKM can take the ACOG sight after you attach the laser sight. It appears that the laser sight has an ACOG attachment point.

Sounds aboout right, I'll take a look at those when I get time. A heap of attachments inherited from older builds of AIMNAS were busted for a long time, though I've fixed a fair few over the years, can't say I've taken a closer look at the RAS variants of guns, of which there are many.

Colt M4 Commando is able to take the G36 Rail-Kit in the sling attachment slot but it doesn't do anything. I can't imagine it isn't supposed to do anything like this.

The XM-50 gas mask cannot attach to the same LBE points as the normal Gas Mask. I'm sure it's a simple fix but I have no idea how to do it :X

The ETAC Triple Flashbang Pouch only seems to allow 2 flash-bang grenades rather than 3 as the name would imply when used with the Spectre Leg Rig. I'm not sure if its a limitation of the leg rig or a bug.

Edit: ETAC Triple Grenade Pouch has the same 2 grenade limitation even with the mini-grenade. Maybe its intentional given that I'm using the Spectre Leg Rig?

a) The 9x39mm Box, SP-5 ammo boxes (the cardboard ones boxes) don't seem to have the ability to transform into ammo magazines when you click on the image after inspecting the box. I found a workaround by clicking the box on the gun which loads it with the SP-5 rounds and then empty the gun. This process produces magazines.


b)In the inventory screen, the boxes do not combine using the "combine items" button. I haven't found a way around it.


Also, please let me know if I'm posting too much. I'm not always sure what is a bug, workaround, or something intentional.

The XM-50 gas mask cannot attach to the same LBE points as the normal Gas Mask. I'm sure it's a simple fix but I have no idea how to do it :X

What LBE are you using that the XM-50 Gas mask won't attach to? Are you having similar issues with the Avon S10 mask?
