I didn't play Vengeance much but i do remember that when i liberated the oil rig in what was called Drassen, in the vanilla game, the guy in charge asked me for some tools when i spoke to him. I gave him a Tool Kit and i started getting income. If i remember correctly that is.
So, maybe you need to do something for the oil rig to produce income. Don't be there at night as the security will start a battle and all hell breaks loose. Look for the guy in charge during the day, he may be in a nearby sector.
Or Babyface must have sex with one of your female mercs so you can hire him and that is the prerequisite for the oil rig to produce income ? I don't remember the exact details but it appears that are a lot of new quests that you'll have to discover and solve. Maybe someone else can provide more relevant information.

If true, i'd call that pretty bad design, close to smth like "only left handed teen with green eyes can kill the queen"

I don't know if something changed, but in the older beta i played there were triggered explosions when you entered the sector and the fighting started. The guy was in the same sector and got injured, so you had to patch him up.

Babyface has nothing to with mine income. Drassen is still Drassen in Vengeance and the guy you gave the tool kit has nothing to with the oil rig in Oronegro.

To get the oil rig producing income for you, you need to talk to the head foreman, just like you used to with the head miner in vanilla, unless your JA2 options ini has MINE_NO_FOREMAN_PENALTY with a value other than 0 set. This is for those who want to play with assigning a foreman by hand. By default this should be off and act like Vanilla.

One factor, as Talion mentioned, is that some rigs are booby-trapped with the powers-that-be wanting to sabotage the rig rather than have you get an income from them, most of the time these attempts are not fully successful but should be considered. Stealthy approaches to any major facilities is generally best practice.

I am making a point of things that i did found sort of unusual. Also pointing out that i didn't play the mod extensively and don't remember everything. Vengeance has some unusual conditions/quests.

And Babyface did wanted to have sex with one of the females in my team so i could finally hire him, using the same merc he had sex with, since she's had high leadership and talked him into joining the team. If it's bad design, tell it to whoever made the mod. It wasn't me happy

If the head miner has died you should be able to assign a foreman manually, from your team as long as one of them has the skills to run an oil rig. Got to Facility >Oil Rig > Drilling Foreman. Also be aware deaths of locals or property will result in loyalty and have negative effects on mining.

What sidequests are you referring to?

Hi maenfu,

I'm sorry, but if you didn't talk to the head miner and he died the oil rig in Oronegro won't create any income anymore.
Either you are very quiet in Oronegro and/or use Covert Ops or you give the head miner medical care after the explosion. But when he is dead before you could talk to him there is no chance to get any money from the mine/oil rig anymore.

Best regards, Schein...

Is the "head miner" or "foreman" not calvin? I have the same problem, no income. I only talked to calvin in that sector, was there another npc?

*edit
History log shows no npc has died.

I thought we set miners/foremans to be fixed to certain mines and oil rigs, so Fred will always be in Drassen, Calvin is always in Doran, but maybe that changed. After talking did you get a history notification such as 'Talked to Foreman at Oronegro'? Calvin also complicates things as he is not actually good at his job.

Because there are a number of ways to work the mines and oil rigs now, check your ini settings. Dependent on those you still need to talk a foreman/head miner successfully and then get them to generate income for you. If your ini settings require a foreman (unlike Vanilla) you have to recruit them, then assign them as Foreman to generate income. Town loyalty still is a factor and the MINE_INCOME_PERCENTAGE value should also be checked in you ini. Previously it was set to 50, but really should be 100 to get full benefit.

MINE_INCOME_PERCENTAGE = 100
MINE_NO_FOREMAN_PENALTY = 50

I got no message that I talked to a foreman, only that Calvin got recruited. So i guess the foreman died in the explosions at the oil rig and I did not notice it? Kinda shity because I play with ironman and liberated Oronegro without noticing crying
No matter who i put as "Oil Rig Foreman" there is no income.

That is so far the only bug/flaw that I encountered, other than that, a truly beautiful mod! I would advice not putting essential npcs in range of pre aranged explosions. Playing the sector in stealth on expert with ironman is kinda impossible.

*edit
On my 2nd try i captured the oilrig with militia and retreated my mercs, so that I dont trigger any explosions. Now I talked with calvin again, but this time i got the message that I talked to the foreman (I did not recruit him this time). I thought the foreman is an aditional npc, but it is just calvin. So there is a bug where you talk to calvin and recruit him but you do not get the message that you talked to a foreman!

Unfortunately for some the self destructing mines and oil rigs have been a feature since the original Vengeance and generally it is a roll of the dice should the foreman die before you gain any income. It's something that adds some difficulty and variation to the game for some, but can seem unfair to others. I'm tempted to tone down some of the explosions as you are not the first to be this unlucky. I think there must be some issues with Calvin too, as I had him recruited and assigned as a foreman in Doran, but when I noticed the mine worked more efficiently when he was asleep I later noted this was also the case when I unassigned him. So in effect a mine works better without him, but you still need to talk to him to gain the use of the mine when first taking it.
