Hello - I know this sounds a bit odd, but is the team accepting interns in the project? I've started with c++ about a year ago and now I am able to build apps of medium complexity such as this
If you are interested to find out more details about the 2 projects you can find them in the description.
My actual goal is implementing (somewhere in the future) a feature like this (the code-side of it) be it for the actual Stracciatella should the feature be welcomed or/and for the 1.13 mod.
I'm aware that doing a non-hack job attempt to incorporate such a feature needs experience and practice. From assets point of view I have a friend who is an active 3d modeler and would be willing to do the graphical-side work - we're both aware of the size of work this entails, but afore said friend is also willing to commit to daily work, as long as the engine will allow such a feature (thou we're hoping to see this through for the 1.13 mod - still, assets made will be available for both Stracciatella and 1.13 mod).
I currently have a part-time job and when I'm free, I'm trying to bring myself closer to this goal - I've learned mostly on my own so far (started in january 2018 with 0 coding experience), coming from a non-CS background. I am actually even willing to do 4-6 hours per day voluntary work in any area the Devs would see that my skills are a good fit.
This said, I figured I'd post this here and talk more if the offer is of actual interest
PS - it's self-explanatory that I'm a Ja2 enthusiast, and the reason why I actually started with c++ in the first place was to see this feature get through. Thanks for reading!
Hello!! A talented and motivated coder with free time to improve JA 1.13? And nobody responded? I wonder if you'd be willing to re-post this in one of the more general forums (maybe not mod-specific). Looking at your work, I'm excited about the possibilities! Anybody else agree?
