Hi there, again, after so many years, idle. (I have 2 kids now and 150 games on steam)

Recently I went on GOG and got JA2 then I came to this forum and got a Single Click Installer (tnx for that)

Then I started the game and the game was really slow and I remembered the solution I found out back in 2013 with the wine wined3d v1.1.38.

I tried to find my own post where I Shared the solution I found out but with no luck. Only found other ppl telling the same solution but not my post...

Does anyone have a working link to this thread?

I still remember when, after playing JA2 in linux via wine, I found that the Windows version was slow and decided to experiment with wine's dlls for windows.
The 1st successful run was with V1.1.34 then I went to the last version and the ddraw.dll was missing and I discovered that v1.1.38 was the last version with that dll.
Then I had to find an official URL with that exe to share.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that everyone now widely uses that fix even for other old games, not just for JA2.
But its kind of sad that my single moment of glory in this community was forgotten.

I understand that there are old posts here but the system is not complete.
I know some posts i made that are not here, others have been converted with the wrong date..

There is no version number of the wined3d exe on my machine but the ddraw.dll and the others are marked as version 5.3.1.904 if that`s any help?
The ones that came with the modpack did not work for me so I had to search for the right versions too but can`t remember where I found them?

I could upload the exe for anyone who wants it though.

as Greyfoot noted wined3d inside the modpack isnt the best, wouldnt let me alt-tab back into the game.
current cutting edge vulcan based wined3d https://fdossena.com/?p=wined3d/index.frag works great, This is the "version 5.3.1.904" one
