I have read about there being a lot of editors made for JA2, is there anyone who is kind of similar to the official JA2UB editor? All I really wanne do, is put out some good weapons to my team, around Omerta. Cuz I think it is a bit weird for a group of Mercs trying to take over a country to start out with a few pistols!!! Is it possible to add a chest with guns and some armor (and some money maybe), in Omerta?? I know it wasn't possible in the JA2UB editor, so I just made a new sector over the sector where the helicopter crashed, and I was in business. I don't want the best weapons, but at least something that has a range of 20...

I don't know if pressing 'Ctrl+ G A B B I' works with your version of JA2.
If it does, empty your mercs hands and right-click on a weapon (.38-special) this brings up a larger-weapon-'window'.
Next alt-w untill the desired gun comes along.
(unload that gun and press alt-r untill you've got enough ammo)
Range 20, in my opinion, would be good, cause else you'll find relatively-useless guns on killed enemies untill you've captured your third town.

If you don't like "cheat used" appearing in your history log, you can combine this with the next trick. (plus it goes much faster)

next trick:

Halfway down the first post, LegacyOfApathy describes a way to copy a sector inventory.
You should keep Jagged running all the time during this procedure.

Editting the maps is beyond me.

edit, clearified a bit. Go get 'em !!

There is a map editor available for the vanilla version of Ja2 as well as the 1.13 mod. Using it is very similar to using the UB editor but it has a lot more features (especially the 1.13 version.

You can find it here:

http://khelle.de/news.php

There is also a program called Proedit (included in the 1.13 but also available on that web site) where you can edit mercs starting equipment. Adding stuff to the IMP is a little tricky but if you don't mind a messy way you can just add his gear to one of the mercs you plan to hire then hand it off once you get in sector.

Anyway, there is a tool for almost anything you can think of to edit Ja2. Some, like Proedit are very easy to use (when using it with the 1.13 remember to rename your prof.dat to the appropriate difficulty/tons of guns setting) while others like the beta editor are pretty glitchy and require some serious patience.
