It pops up now and again on e-Bay and similar sites. I got mine for $5 after I was throughly addicted to JADG and JA2 had yet to find a distributor.

I just kept checking all the software stores in my neighbourhood. One day I got lucky and I found it in a discount box.
In a similar fashion I got a hold of 3 Deadly Games main cd's and one multiplayer cd. Somehow the salesclerk screwed up and someone else probably got a box with two multiplayer only cd's, which can't even host. That person won't be happy. :computer2:

but this is only the game. so no speech files.

if you want the game with speech and music. then i would suggest looking at ebay Smile

I don't know what to do. I mean that... shit, I just don't know how to download it from the Home of the Underdogs. Something like "reload the picture" shows up. Hunh? I don't get it. Reload the picture? I cliked the image with the right button of the mouse and pressed load image.
I don't know what for I did "reload" it, but I did. I don't know did it help me or not. Still, at the "south side" of the picture there was a five letter word (if it can be called a WORD): DPemu.
DPemu? I typed it to the box below, and clicked "Go!". It said it couldn't be downloaded. Error or something. Then I went to the main page of HUTO and searched Jagged Alliance and the same problem. I have no idea what should I do. No idea. How can I download it?

HOTU has a very restrictive download system. You should read their FAQ on their download system. If you have a download manager, make sure that it doesn't try to download multiple sections of the file at once. It's also possible that the server is just plain down.

I've read their FAQ & didn't understood the slighest word of their new system. grrrrrr. What a shame. It's such a mine for priceless treasures!

Sometimes I find what I search on Kazaa(only real abandonware, I'm not a crook), last week I've found Princess Maker 2. But it remains annoying.

Hmmm.
I don't see any problem at all....

Just follow the link posted on 15 november 2003 by Eisenhower (5th post in this topic). Go to the box next to solution (a bit below the Home of the underdogs picture). Fill in the word that can be read below the "Home of the Underdog" picture (DPemu at this moment) and click go.

Make sure you have your download manager disabled. The download should start right away.

Otherwise: try this link:

Only difference: this file is 10 MB whereas that of the underdogs in 20 MB.
So, you might miss out on sound or something like that. Dunno, isn't mentioned on the flashbacksite.

Classic-trash has some gems. I don't remember having seen JA therein, but Capitalism Plus was, and that's far from being trash. I'll try your method for The-underdogs once at home(dangerous at work...)

EDIT : it works!!! I hadn't understood the full thing... That's what happens when you're not a born-speaker. You can understand most complex concepts, but some simple ones leave yourself clueless... I even had to read 4 times your words before understanding the 5 letters had to be typed BEFORE clicking anywhere.....

I know this post comes rather late, but I just noticed the thread.

If you want to find old, "abandonware" games, here are two other useful sites:

The first site is great for francophones and has French versions of various popular games (as well as some English versions), and the second is a nice link site to various other useful sites (like Home of the Underdogs).

I downloaded the older, non-CD version of JA from one of the links (I think it was BH Legend) provided by Free Oldies. In my opinion, it's preferable to the HOTU ripped CD-version, since the latter omits all the cutscenes. However, with the non-CD version, you get to see the intro, since it consists of a series of still images, rather than a movie (as in the CD-version). Not essential, but it adds a sense of completeness to the story.

There's no non-CD version for Deadly Games, however. I hate the time limits imposed on each mission. An unlimited time patch does exist, but if you install it, your downloaded game will no longer run (since it'll start looking for a CD). I played the first three missions of DG, then quit because of the frustrating time constraints.

That's right, it is a game similar to JA, a bit older. If you search for it, you'll find some files with that name on kazaa, but I haven't checked if they are the real thing.

"X-Com" was released in Europe as "UFO: Enemy Unknown" so that is likely how you will see it referenced.

"X-Com 2: Terror From the Deep" was released a little later, almost exactly the same but with different graphics... still hella fun though.

X-Com: Enemy Unknown, Europe version. I think in the states it was called X-Com: UFO Defense.

Then Terror From the Deep of course, which was a lot more advanced but basically the same game.

Both Jagged Alliance and Deadly Games are available in their fully voiced glory here:

You'll need to be familiar with BitTorrent (I'd recommend using Azureus) and you'll need a way to deal with .ISOs (DAEMON Tools works well, or any CD burner program that can handle ISOs).

But they're there, they're full rips, and they have the voices intact.

Good search. I posted the-underdogs several times, but missed abandonia.com. Unfortunately it seems that the site is down at the moment.

Notice that JA at underdogs is 20 MB and at Bhlegend is 9 MB.
