Normally, in the old days, if you asked about these all you got was a RTFM. Since has been so long since JA2 was out a probably some of you don't have the manual, here are some of the keyboard shortcuts JA2 uses:
Tactical Screen:

F1 to F6: selects corresponding merc in current squad
/ : center on selected merc
Space : next merc
1 to 9 : change to corresponding squad, if they are in the same sector.
I : turn glowing items on/off
K : open keys panel
N : cycle through overlapping targets
$ : deposit/withdraw money
* : toggles between red and white glowing items

Map Screen:
1 to 9: select mercs 1 to 9
SHIFT 1 to 0: select mercs 11 to 20
SHIFT: Hold down shift to select a wide range of mercs
