Ok, I may just be inordinately dumb, but I'm assuming that you run the start menu for DL, then select the clue button, then enter one of the codes from the various cards found around the game (some of which are duplicates). Right? Then the laptop info thingie should be updated with new info. Right? Well I keep trying to enter the codes but don't seem to get anything new on the laptop. It's not the "History" section that gets updated right, its the "Files" one.

Am I entering the codes in incorrectly? I thought I was being careful to do enter the code exactly as on the cards. Does it really matter? I'm playing along happily without them so far.

There are quite a few threads along these lines. The easiest way I found was to do it manually. Can't remember exactly what was done, but it involved Alt-tabbing, extracting the relevent file, renaming as the file currently on the laptop 'files' section, then Alt-tabbing back in. They're only background story anyway, not essential.

I have been having trouble with these myself. Advice I have found so far has not worked. Could someone just please post a spoiler file with the messages in it, and make it a sticky topic in this forum?

I couldn't get it to work using the method above - viz., Alt+Tab to the start menu for DL - and enter the code and come back - the laptop shows no change.

However, it works if you *quit* the game - and then punch in the code - and then restart your game - the info will be reflected in the files section of your laptop Very Happy
