Do the sniper rifles in UC have built-in rifle scopes, i.e there is no need to mount the scopes separately? Found a KSVK & CZ 700.

Yes, they have built-in scopes. If you find Dragunov with mounted PSO-1 scope, don't worry it's a minor bug.

If I remove the PSO-1 from the Dragunov, will the rifle keep its bonus?
Is it a freebie scope? Smile

Just want to say that sniper rifles rule! Provided you can afford the high Aps to use them, of course. One-shot kills are not uncommon. Smile

Yeah, just yesterday I plugged a sucker for 150 damage with the Dragunov. I could hardly believe it.

Hayashi,do you mean sniper systems or DMRs(dedicated marksman rifles)?
My team uses Dragunov and Vintorez(rod&spring attached),but I gave up even on the KSVK.
SA80 and Abakan are also there, among the most searched for babies.

I'm referring to thos rifles designated as "sniper rifles" in the game. So far only came across the KSVK, CZ 700 & Vepr .308 (description reads as a hunting rifle - does this come with a 'scope, as the KSVK & CZ 700?)

I experimented with the KSVK, too heavy, ammo too rare, too many APs that cannot be ameliorated with a rod & spring.

Thus far using CZ 700, quite a bang for the buck so to speak. Decent range & damage, ammo is not too rare.

No,Vepr.308 does not come with a permanently attached(in-built) sniper scope.

I don't think they work.
No offense,by why on earth would you want to do that?
To lower the stats of the mercs? To get a hybrid game with (almost)all weapons ejecting the wrong type of ammo?To have Rosebud use Ira's speach,or something like that? The only reason to do that which appears valid to me is to get a first glance of the maps and environment,if it's your first time ever you start UC,then start fresh. But it would spoil your pleasure of discovering the maps one by one...

I've stolen several Dragunovs and found some bugged with PSO-1 scopes. Read someplace that the bugged Dags were more accurate. Messed around a bit and haven't noticed the bugged Dags being more accurate then unbugged Dags. Anybody else noticed one way or the other. The 'Real' Dag has a 4xPSO-1 attached.

the M4A1 with PSO scope & silencer is indeed a good weapon, I have a squad made up of mainly stealthy and/or NO mercs & the M4 or M4A1 is a good weapon for them.
The only problem is that whilst I've found about 3 or 4 PSO1 scopes, I've only found 2 trigger groups and 1 PSO adaptor. Where else can I find them, or are they really scarce?
Still early on in the game. Day 28, cleared out Calisto + SAM site, Port Kip and almost all of Sheraton (except for B1, which will be my next objective).

Also found a Dragunov. A great sniper rifle, decent damage & I like the lower AP costs (compared with other rifles in this category).

Has anybody else noticed that there are at least 2 Dags. One weighs about 17 pounds w/Bugged PSO1, the other weighs about 13 pounds w/Bugged PSO1.

Both are ammoed and no Bipod.

I've checked both their(in game)nomenclatures and the Model number is the same for both.

The heavy ones were stolen at East Sam and the supply sector next to the West Sam. Also got a couple from one of the Port Kip sectors.

Look out for this if your having weight problems with your troops.

This isn't an 'April Fools'!

I am not that happy with the M21 when compared to the Dag.

M21's specs are a bit better except weight, but the largest magizine availble is 20 rds (2 clips per small pocket and 4 clips in the large), the Dag has a 10 round clip and a 100 rd box that fits a small pocket.

Often I send my squad out with the idea of going as far as they can! A few 100 rd boxes shared by 6 troops have ammoed them for up to 4 or 5 hostile sectors. With the M21 I've had to worry about whether the enemy will 'drop' NATO ammo! Sometimes they don't!

So the Silenced M4 with silencer, G30, PSO1 is the short range weapon and the Dags for long range.

All this talk of "dags" make me think of Snatch... Ya like dags?

Anyways, I've noticed that the bugged dags seem to shoot better than the plain ones, it seems like (using the CtH mod) the final AP gives an extra large bonus with the doubly scoped ones.

On the M-21, I just got my first one and I'm quite fond of it. Certainly from a logistical standpoint it is less efficient (I keep expecting to see a 7.62 NATO MG, but don't), and the ammo gathering is a pain, but if you use it right, you shouldn't need very many shots to begin with. The point of a DMR is to be accurate and fast firing, I use at most three shots on an enemy. The huge AP cost helps to lower the number of shots you wind up taking.
