Is there a robot in UC? I got the cut scene where a scientist is missing blah, blah, blah already. Is it similar to JA2. I hope so, because I like to use it like a bomb disposal robot -- send it in to see what's around, and if it gets shot, just repair it later.

And where is the robot ? I can't find it in UC. Is there a message when squad travels across the map or you must search every sector?

You can see what the robot sees, so if you run it in a room, you can see the bad guys. And the robot can take a lot more punishment than your mercs, so in that sense is how I meant it.

In JA2, your mercs would get a "spotted someone in the sector" message similar to the one you get when looking for Skyrider (the pilot). I assume that's the case in UC if the robot still exists, which according to Azazel's post, it does.

Yea you can get the robot.

I never got it in JA2, but picked it up in UC just to toss it.

Anyway, though, since in UC the machine guns can hold more than 30 rounds, I recommend putting one of those bad boys on it so you don't have to reload the motherf-cker every 5 minutes.

You can get the camera from Franz is Rudesa, and probably in other places too.

Is it useful? I don't know, I don't think it gets interrupts, it makes the user useless in night ops, and has low AP's.

Basically, if you have the money for mercs, and good body armor, you don't really need it.

Man,he gets interrupts.But can't ever run,or change stance.
And it is very,VERY, useful for training other mercs' dexterity to acceptable levels. How?Repeatedly knifing it,then repairing it to do it again.Rosebud gained 4 dexterity points first time he knifed it,not distroying the sparring partner. Smile

If I'm not mistaken, it varies from game to game.

In the original game, he could be found in one of these: H7, E4, H16, J10, G7, G16, I11
but I forgot whether we moved him about in UC or not. We probably did Smile

Anyways, does anyone know if the robot is replaced by the walking one? I once fixed the animations to replace the ugly robot with a cooler one, but I'm not sure if it ever got implemented. Might ahve been included in that unofficial sci-fi patch Bearpit released at some point.

The robot CAN run. You just gotta.. double click a location to make him run. Then the next time you get in a fight, he'll automatically be in run mode.

Yeah.. The robot kinda has low stats. Noticaibly he's lacking in agility.

I don't suppose I could have any hints for possible locations of the robot? I've even.. Erm. Mislocated it in Dedrianna Lives.

I'd enjoy attaching all those newfangled weapons to that there hunk of metal and seeing what it can do. See how well it can use those sniper rifles with integrated sniper scopes. Failing that, I can always attach a 120 round machine gun to it ^^.

Sadly, I haven't seen a humanoid robot in any of the JA2 mods (really cool looking robots are more of a Fallout 2 thing Mad).

*minor\massive spoiler*

Well, I've seen screenshots of a terminator in some 1.13 section of the board. And encountered one in Dedrianna Lives. But that might just have been a super armored-super powerful kingpin assassin O.o

He sure did an excellent job at annihilating mercs.

The robot is in sector H8.
The science Madlab has it.
But I do not know how to start the robot or to hire the Madlab.
Any clue?
