no but to delet the cryph in ja2 you need a version of the encrypht file
and i can not encrypht

what shadow means is:
the encryption of files like prof.dat...
they have a somewhat like +1 encryption when they are saved, for whatever reason... same goes to the savegames.
if there's a way to remove the encryption it's not necessary to create decryption routines for e.g. a new prof.dat editor.

prof.dat is the only file that is actually encrypted... that I know of. *.edt files are just slightly scrambled, as you said. If Shadow can't figure that out... he should turn in his white hat Very Happy

As for prof.dat, it's a little trickier. See file "ja2\Build\Tactical\Soldier Profile.c", function

BOOLEAN LoadMercProfiles(void)

It calls a decyption subroutine, which can be found elsewhere.

thx I was not sure if the Encrypted File.c/Encrypted File.h are on of the needles Terms but now i know it Smile

so know i write a tool to do this but its boring, because I must add a lot of .h into the project Sad
