Hi

How do you get the mine worker in drassen to work for you. My current town loyalty is 31%(no enemies). Also father walker seems to be MIA.

I read elsewhere that Chitzena mine is useless due to a game bug. Any more unworkable mines?

Thanks

Uh... you'll probably find at least one non-functiong mine due to a bug. To get Drassen up and running you'll need a high town loyalty and a merc with high leadership. I usually use someone like Stephen and wait until my loyalty is 50% or so.

Chitzena is not the problem, head miner Calvin is the problem. Sometimes he appears in a mine other than Chitzena so watch out!

Basically, if you talk to him and he doesn't give you the mine income (maybe not enough town loyalty or not enough leadership), then he will NEVER give you the income. So SAVE before talking to him. If you don't get the income, reload and get some more town loyalty or bring in a merc with higher leadership (or both) and try again.

Cue a war-story of cerebral flatulence:

I'm on day 45 or so and only just realised that Drassen hasn't been producing AT ALL since I took it. I thought it was because I hadn't fulfilled the Doreen quest (which I promptly corrected - Biff and Flo beat her to death :bawling:

Not to mention the way that I've been using people like they had their standard JA2 stats and specialities - I mean, Buzz is my favourite HW/machine-gunner, and she's been running around for forty-plus days without a first-aid kit because I didn't realise she now actually has a medical skill! Surprised

Ah, well... once I blast my way into Meduna and give Her Royal Dogfacedness her demotion :axe: , I can restart and see if I can get it right this time. :ok:

If you kill Doreen, it drops town loyalty quite a bit. It's better to simply talk to her and convince her to leave.

This is something new. Guess I never really tried to negotiate things with her - seeing those poor kids :bawling:

I never managed to talk her around in the regular JA2 anyway, much less in WF - well, not unless my main argument consisted of a .38 JHP :diabolical: - so killing her's always been more expeditious to me. Hell, half the time I don't even bother talking to her anymore; I just walk straight up to her and give her the good news. :diabolical: )

And I don't know what you mean about town loyalty dropping after capping her; maybe in the harder difficulty modes that's true, but in my 'novice'-grade campaign, after Biff and Flo were done kicking her ass Drassen's morale spiked up from 70% to 86%! :luckystrike: )

Morale goes UP in JA2 but down in WF. OTOH, it may be because I capped her AFTER convincing her to leave.

Try this and see which gives you the most increase in morale:
1) cap her immediately
2) talk to her (direct mode works best) and convince her to leave
3) talk to her, convince her to leave, then cap her.

If I remember if correctly, I think Matryoshka is right. My town loyalty went up as soon as I got rid of her because it was a quest to free the kids from forced labor or something ...
