Well I've just cleared the warehouse from the bloodcats, came back to Betty, recruited Tex whilst there is no laptop transmitter in the inventory.
Waited a few days for store inventory to refresh, but to no avail.
Is there a way to hack the thing in, I say?
EDIT:
made it work by editing 'LAPTOP_QUEST = FALSE' in 'UB_Options.INI' in 'Data-UB\AddOns\Data-UB-1.13'
