Now, this isn't a typical violence boast story; it's something that happened that I found to be one of the more realistic happenings of the JA2 world.
My force consists of a 6-man IMP squad, so Ira and Dmitri always wind up in Drassen practicing marksmanship or something. After taking the main facility and prison sectors in Alma, I choppered in Ira & Dmitri to the prison sector to finish training militia while my main force got a med-evac to Cambria to treat casualties.
With 20 militia each in both sectors, the prison got contact shortly after the helicopter left, which left Ira and Dmitri at the bottom of the map, right beside the main counter-attack force, with only their initial issue kit. At the enemy's first turn, Ira got shot up pretty bad, and Dmitri took a solid hit, though most of the forces were preoccupied with the militia opening up on them with automatic fire. The two rebels sprinted for the nearest open door, but when they got there, it was blocked by more militia. Running out of time, Ira turned and discharged her revolver into a persuing member of the queen's army, but missed. The soldier returned fire with his shotgun, missing Ira but laying out flat the militia member in the door frame. The two rebels then ran into the safety of the prison walls.
Ira first patched up Dmitri, while the militia were trying their best to repel the queen's army. When his bleeding stopped, he ran off in search of the nearest unlooted corpse from the former prison guard, while Ira tended her own wounds. As Dmitri ran down the hallway, shots tore through the windows all around him as more militia fell. He turned the corner, and stumbled on a body. Without pausing to consider the irony of taking the body armour off of somebody who had been shot to death, he quickly suited up, and picked up the AK-74SU and one extra magazine of ammo, then ran off to the gatehouse to add his automatic fire to the chorus of battle.
Before Ira could finish first-aid, an enemy charged through the door. She quickly drew her revolver and put two rounds into his chest, then scrambled over to pick up his HK 21E and opened up towards the growing pile of dead bodies on the front line.
Within a few minutes, the dust had settled, and the rebels had survived the fiercest battle they've ever known.
