Not to my knowledge. :whoknows:
The readme file of the UB campaign "X-Com" reveals nothing about the choice of this name and I didn't see something special in the maps I checked, at least no ALF
Toggle SpoilerMap Tracona (X-com) for Jagged Alliance Unfinished Business Ver. 0.3
This project has absolutely free & you may sell it by your choice.
This project is to make map of Tracona full.
256 sectors + 150-200 underground sectors.
Maps for this project was made under the patch from
Wildfire 1.3 Wheh you don't use the patch you may meet
some errors with the weapons (

Hi Schein, I suppose launcher can work here, although "Abschussrampe" is more of a launching platform or launching pad, potentially indicating that different types of things could be shot off from it.
Here is an interesting question for you, I spent 2 hours on this last night, no results unfortunately - is there a way to get a hold of the x-com graphics and sounds? Even if it is technically possible, would it be legal to make a JA mod with them?
Cause to be honest, if I have a whole bunch of pics and sounds, I am happy to make some XMLs and voila, we have an x-com weapons mod for JA, really not that hard as long as you have the pics and wavs.

Thank you guys for your quick replies,
ShangaHere's your answer from bitComposer:
Quote:
Apart from a Social Network based game under development by Strategy First, the acquisition of the full IP rights by bitComposer Games will now serve to clarify the situation and will lay the foundations for future development work under the license.
They are the owners of Jagged Alliance IP so no, the games aren't public domain. Or freeware for that matter.
@ Shanga: I have read the article about bitComposer now:
http://www.bit-composer.com/www_en/newsarchive.aspx?newsid=9e87d356-8529-45b5-a49f-8a814749efc9
Apart from that many websites still list JA1/DG as freeware in their download archives. I will better avoid some link examples now That's the reality in the internet.
Btw the rights for Wildfire (and the source code) are still at i-Deal Games, right?
KazuyaThe use of material from JA1 or DG is technically a copyright violation. However, copyrights don't have an unlimited scope (contrary to what many copyright holders want you to believe).
@ Kazuya: Yes, modding will probably always be a part of a "grey area", but mostly it's to the rights owner's interest too (as long as they are for free), because it keeps the public interest for their products alive.
Best regards; Schein

Well I am not so familiar with the IP for Wildfire, but if it's the standard contract SFI proposes then iDeal has rights for their own content (tilesets, faces, guns, etc), but the rest is property of the publisher, read bitComposer now. iDeal can't publish more games without bitComposer, bitComposer can't use WF items to make a game (not that JA3 has anything in common with WF).
As for JA1/DG, i know for sure these were part of the deal Ian Currie (who owned them) signed with SFI. SFI used them for developing a DS version, remember? The fact that anyone can upload a warez copy and say it's freeware is irrelevant (until some corporate lawyers know on your door)

Thanks for this list.
PCM's under the current build 4870 are incompatible, could save someone some bother to list that feedback.
All break the ini, so it seems to be ignored (easiest way to test is to try to create more than 1 merc), basic or plus do the same. The ini editor cannot read the file correctly either, it gets the values but not the descriptions, though it's ignored so that is a side issue.
