The mapeditor can't delete certain cliff tiles (the ones where you only see the edge of the cliff / the ones facing north).

If you missplace one of them, you can delete them with the backspace key, but you can't use the eraser icon in the map editor. This is especially bad when you want to change cliff placement later on or you realize that something doesn't quite fit. Once the amount of placed items is too high, even backspace doesn't work anymore.

I began making 5 - 6 different save games when making maps with a lot of cliffs, but having that issue fixed would certainly help as well.

Hi smeagol,
just for info:

Kriplo

Yes, know that problem like in D13 map.
Well solution is to hold SHIFT key and with arrows move scrren to invisible area because cliff tile are multitiles and in such case could have anchor in invisible map area.
When get time will try to fix renderer for invisible area when holding SHIFT.

Just short update:

As finding anchor of cliff tiles could be quite fuzzy, you can press 'u' key you to set/reset high grounds thus will prevent cursor from jumping.
Maybe easiest way to find anchor is selecting cliff tiles you already have on edges using mouse wheel scroll for fast switch between them, red square cursor shows where anchor lies.

Next is to toggle erase button from TERRAIN taskbar and hold SHIFT when using arrows keys to move into invisible area.
Once you are in invisible area you must hold SHIFT when clicking in invisible area to remain there, to erase cliff left click to the cliff anchor tile.

Simple like user friendly editor is Wink

Yes, I know that pressing the shift key allows moving out of the map boundaries. And I also know how to delete regular cliff tiles.

I was talking about the cliff tiles that only show the edge of the cliff. These can't be deleted (even trying to use the eraser button all around the placed objects doesn't do anything). See pic for reference.

A completed cliff with these tiles and highground markers looks like this:

Same cliff without highground markers:

All cliff tiles facing south are easily deleted, the problem are the ones facing north.

Ah, you mean that ones, sorry didn't understand.
Ok Smeagol, will test and fix it. Those edge cliffs are not mean to be in such usage in v1.12 I add this option 2009. but didn't test working with them.
If remeber correctly there is some visual rendering problem with middle cliffs if merc is positioned beyond them, but this is not important right now.

Do you still use older map editor for AIMNAS or you already move to newest one?
I know there are problems using latest mapeditors with AIMNAS as someone move XML files to subdirectories thus breaking compatibility with every mode older then 2013.

Hope AIMNAS is migrated as any changes to mapeditor goes to official and stable branch.

Also currently fixing move building option so if there is no rush my plan are to commit all changes during next week, including more then 256 light sprites.

I'm currently using the 6871 exe and mapeditor.

Everything else works fine so far. Sometimes the editor freezes when showing highground markers, can be annoying when the map isn't saved regularly, but I'm getting used to it.

The north facing cliff tiles are tricky to place, but they do work fine in game, as far as I can tell (at least in terms of not screwing up highground).

Smeagol, does this freezing occurs in any kind of map or only in case for AIMNAS maps with cliffs?
Trying to reproduce this freezing problem so will need more information, at least map for testing, and resolution you used in mapeditor.

I'm running the editor in 1680x1050.

The freeze occurs on bigmaps (not sure if it also appears on regular maps) when you use "k" key to show highground markers with a cliff tile active in the cursor and when you scroll around the map, possibly moving around with the cliff tile around the highground markers. At least that's what I think causes the freeze... I might be totally wrong there.

Deletion of all cliffs tiles will work from r7004, but still couldn't recreate mapedtior freezing when high ground cursor markers are on only get some visual glitches which will try to fix next time.
