Hi, I just started a new game* on day 3 I'm getting a 40 enemy counter attack with 10 elites in Cambria. I have a Raven, Shadow and a few IMP mercs with 88 Marksmanship. Any help dealing with this? Should I run away and come back after they leave? Hide in a room with one entrance?

*(Oh I installed the Arulco Vactions Map mod and I'm running build 7609. I'm not sure if this changes difficulty or not)

personally, I turtle up on the counter attacks usually using a roof or two and try to snipe elites down while using shotgun or autofire to suppress where I can.

Personally, for me, that early in the game I run away, let the army disperse, fight the squads that leave the town, then retake the town.

Arulco Vacations does make the early game more difficult as the army is better equipped (not limited to pistols) and the Admin are not desk jockeys but SWAT and government agents (i.e. Arulcan secret\political police agents ala FBI, CIA, KGB, etc). I assume you mean you installed the entire mod and not just the maps.

Ok, I ran away, and I am fighting mostly at night and doing decent. But Now I have an issue with a missing Father Walker. He is not at the Church not is he at the bar. And all my town approvals are 20-30% so I can't train militia. Maybe there is something new in Arulco Vacations? Yes I installed the entire mod.

Father Walker seems to disappear for a bit, but always comes around eventually. If you leave Drassen and come back the next day he usually is there. I did not do anything to his script to make him not appear so I haven't found out why he goes missing for a bit.

Turtle down and use handguns for interrupting, if by any chance you need to block the entrance for a turn or two just shoot the coming guy in the legs, chances are they will still spot you since the guy on the ground will "tell" the others you're there... you'll get some fire through the walls but if you adjust the ini you can pretty much worsen their accuracy if they're not in direct sight of your mercs.

I do really hate though how AP ammo even in mid-low sizes (9mm, 45 acp, 5.56) can easily tear down concrete walls and hit the guys you have inside, I'd expect that from some lucky 7.62's and of course .50 cal ammo.

As they said up there, 40 guys ain't much of a threat, on AIMNAS they get crazy with the reinforcements options and every surrounding sector send troops... if I remember correctly you can get up to 90 enemies at the same time ;_;
